Hello, my fellow marketers. The company to which I dedicated one of my websites has very recently closed down, which means I can no longer be their affiliate and promote their

I'm not sure how anyone can have a qualified opinion on this without knowing the niche or site. Not asking for you to share, but for example is it possible for the articles to be tweaked towards a similar company?

Could the articles be tweaked to focus solely on information not pertaining at all to a company and then monetized by ads then sold in 6 months to a year?

I threw the last out as it's possible you have built some authority due to age and backlinks that could be salvaged in some way to resell in a short time span.

Best of luck, wish I had more of an answer for you.

Regards,

Jason

Thanks Jason! It’s a wellness company that also sells water filters, which was my niche. They’re thriving in the US but closed their branches in UK/Europe (which affected me)
So technically, someone in the US could potentially use it, I just don’t know how to offer it.

But I was thinking more of selling the domain name, FilteredByNature.com. (This is not their name, I came up with that.)

Any idea/tutorial links on how to sell a domain name would be much appreciated (IF you can) - thanks!

I don't personally know of any tutorials for domain sales. I've never contemplated it as it seems many have a hard time selling domains, and those that do so usually have a lot of names for sale at the time. A quick search here has very old information on it.

I still think your best bet would be to try selling it as a package deal. I'm not certain of your traffic or revenue generated which obviously would create the value.

The site itself looks as if it was built for PPC campaigns. If this is so, have you considered just narrowing your campaigns to the U.S.?

Or picking one of their competitors that have an affiliate program and restructuring your content to the competitor?

I wish I could be of more help.

Regards,

Jason

If it is not a niche related website where you can try to find alternative products to promote, but solely dedicated to that company that no longer exist then I see no other option than deleting it. As option 2 would be unethical to me, selling a "worthless" website to an unaware stumper aka not knowing the company that website is promoting has closed down. Accepting money (no matter the amount) and leaving a bad taste in someone's mouth is not the way I want to be recalled for.

Thanks! Just to clarify, I didn’t mean to sell them the website of a closed down business (although they only closed their branches in Europe, not in the US)
, I meant whether I could utilise the domain name, which is could be used by many different businesses that focus on water filters. (the domain name is “filteredbynature.com”)
Thanks again for any further info on domain selling (if you can.)

Find an alternative if you can.

Or turn it into an informational website, perhaps monetized with ads and that's dependent on how many posts you have?

Thank you TheAbie! I don’t have any blog posts on it yet, it’s only four basic pages. I think I was thinking about selling the domain name, (FilteredByNature, the niche was water filters, but not sure how to proceed with that.) Thanks again!

Email Marketing

Dear WA community,

could you please advise where to find a good email marketing video tutorial, such as Jay's Magistudio recorded webinars? (I couldn't find it)

Yikes Abie, your definition of a few and mine are a lot different. You just gave enough links to qualify for a masters degree right there, hah hah.

You can click the star within and add a tag to Bookmark, then click the magnifying glass again and look under your favorites tab to view your bookmarks.

Anything else that you'd like help with feel free to reach out anytime.

I hope you have a splendid weekend.

My God Abie! Do you mind if I save some of your links?🤪

Email marketing is something I have been looking to learn more myself.

Feel free to help yourself anytime.

@TheAbie
Oh my GOSH, it's Christmas again! :)) Geez, thanks a million for such a wealth of information. I'm so moved. I felt a bit lost with all this, but your incredible reply assured me that this community just rocks. Especially with super-helpful souls like you. Thanks again, I can't wait to watch these classes and finally IMPLEMENT them! :) x Have a great 2023.

@TheAbie, I have just copied all your links in a document, it feels so good to have it all in one place! :)
Massive thanks again.

Use the magnifying glass at the top menu and Type email marketing in the search box and you will find it

Hi, Lucie

You can begin with: Frank

Thanks a lot, Frank! Will do. So glad to know all the info is here! (After completing the Basic course, I felt I was missing out on email marketing, but I can now see how many cool tutorials we have available here.)
Thanks again and have a nice weekend! (Nearly here :)

You’re welcome!

Enjoy your upcoming weekend, too! 😎

Jay @magistudios

You will find all of Jay's live webinars, both premiums, and premium plus, below, though you won't be able to attend the PP+ ones unless you upgrade.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/classes/profile/magistudios#teaching

You may use Aweber, which is free for the first 500 subscribers and is affiliate marketing friendly.

Brilliant. And just wondering: would you recommend Aweber over Mailchimp? Thank you.

Hello, I am confused about the new layout on Amazon affiliate pages. There used to be a quick way to create an affiliate link for a specific product by inserting the ASIN numbe

What you can do is log into your Amazon associate account then bring up another Amazon.com screen. In the upper left hand corner of the screen see "Site Stripe". You have several options for layout there. It will give you text only, image only, image + text, or a custom layout. Works great once you get used to it.. If you know the ASIN you can enter it in the search bar.

If you have a free siterubix.com website available you could do some testing three until you get used to it. In fact I would try all 4 options.

Thanks so much, that's even better now than it used to be! :) I was just blind and didn't notice the Site Stripe. Very handy! Cheers.

You are so very welcome. Yes, it is even better now.

Tutorial This has changed March 1st.

Brilliant, thank you for the very useful video! Looks like things are even easier now than before, which is nice. Take care and thanks again for your help.

Hello, I wonder if anyone could help me with the following: Can I generate an affiliate link to a particular store (or a sub-category of a store), rather than a single product?

Hi, no don't think you can. Amazon has a strict content policy where you are not allowed

https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-build-an-amazon-affiliate-store-using-wordpress/

Thank you! I see...Amazon's policy is stricter than other companies who often allow you to link to their whole store.
In that case, I'll probably just add a link to one particular product, and then advise the readers to check the Amazon store of the company. Thanks again for getting back to me!

Hello, I'd like to ask in what form to write my rating in the new version of WP Review Lite. They've seem to have updated it, and now, instead of the simple section 'my rating'

Great question. Waiting for answers too.

Hey Lucie,

The plugin I use for rating products and/or services offer those fields too, and when I do not have the necessary info to put in ANY of the fields offered, I leave them empty.

Are all of the fields with WP Review Lite displayed for the world to see on your blog?

The plugin I use, does NOT display those fields... and Google Analytics will sometime issue warnings about empty fields, but if you do not have the information, I've been told to not worry about it.

Plus... I stopped allowing others to rate my posts, so I do not use the Aggregate rating. See screen print below...

Hope you find this helpful.

Thank you, Trish! I'm sending two screenshots for comparison. The first one is from the older version of WP Rewies, and the second one from the updated one, where I don't know how to write my rating, so it's missing. Thanks again for any tips! (Perhaps I should change the review plugin and use the one you use. :)

Okay... so the fields that you have no information for, are NOT being displayed on the front end. That is all you really need to worry about.

The developer of you plugin has changed the layout... drastically, it seems.

I found WP Review far too distracting to use, especially when all I need is the star rating, because I offer the full details in my review.

See screen print below for the plugin I use... in case you want to know.

Fantastic, Thank you so much, YASR looks great! This was exactly what I had always wanted - just the stars! I didn't necessarily wanna display all the other stuff, which, like you, I already mention in my review anyway. So this has been a great help!
Plus I was always quite worried by Google issuing me with warnings for little things in the WP Review...perhaps it didn't do my SEO any favour!

So thanks again, I'll give YASR a go.

Well, you're not to worry about those warnings.

It appears that Google has forced the developer of Yasr to add similar fields too now, and I get the warnings all of the time.

If you don't have the info... leave those fields empty and let Google warn you. Think the warnings are meant more to REMIND us to use what fields that we can use. After a spell, Google drops the warnings in my search console.

Oh great, thanks for your clear explanation. Good to know that I no longer have to be scared of those warnings :)
