Advice About YOUR Pinterest Accounts!
So, as you know, today I was supposed to continue on from yesterday's post, about creating and scheduling pins using ChatGPT.
But, after I received a few PMs yesterday, I decide to take another look at the Pinterest exchange thread, and really look at some of your accounts.
And I have to be honest here, that even if I gave you the best strategies in the world and showed you how to make fabulous pins, many of you would still see no success.
I have mentioned many times before, that just like Google, Pinterest has algorithms, and there are specific things it is looking for.
Unless your account and your boards are optimized for the Pinterest SEO preferences, your pins are unlikely to be seen.
So, I want you to take time out, and undertake some optimization tasks, before we carry on with the training.
Some of these I have mentioned in previous posts, so if you have already taken action on these points, move on to the next one.
Claim Your Website!
Yes, I have mentioned this before, and it is one of the most important things you can do!
Take a look at my previous post, and if you don't know what to do, scroll through and find Lisa Marie's answer.

Create a Business Account!
Another important task, that will allow you to put a banner on your profile page and provide you with lots of useful analytics.
Its completely free, so you have no excuse.

Optimize Your Profile and Description!
Check out this post, and I would even go so far as to suggest that you change the name of your account, so that it reflects what your pins are about.
Don't give it a cute or pretty name, and not even your own name, just something that accurately describes your niche.
Its one of the first things that Pinterest looks at, to decide if it should bring up your pins in response to a search request.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/dianescorpio/blog/your-pinterest-profile-matters
Organize Your Boards!
One thing I found, which surprised me, is that some of you don't have any boards at all.
Just one massive page of pins, which is not going to attract anybody!
Ideally, have at least 5 boards, and think about your website.
You can use the same categories that you already have on your site.
And again, it should accurately describe what the pins on that board are about.
You don't have get fancy or clever about your board names, they don't have to be unique.
So, if you are going to have pins on decluttering a kitchen, then call it Kitchen Decluttering.
If it's about Keto Breakfasts, then that's what you call it!
Add a Description to Your Boards!
In much the same way you have optimized your profile, do the same to your boards.
Write individual descriptions for each board.
Pinterest has give you a specific place to do this, so it clearly expects you to fill it in!
And pick your best image as a cover for each board.
If you don't do this, then each time you add a new pin, then Pinterest will use that as your cover.
And obviously, some pins are more attractive than others.
Conclusion and a bit of a rant...
So, those are your 5 tasks that you need to do before you even think about adding any more pins.
Now, just to finish, I am also going back to a previous post.
And I am aware that some people completely disagreed with this.
But, I stand by what I said, and I came across an example, that perfectly illustrates this.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/dianescorpio/blog/dont-follow-wa-members-on-pinterest
Read the post first, if you haven't already done so.
Now, I am obviously not naming names, but I apologise if you recognise yourself in what I am going to say.
On the Pinterest exchange thread, I came across somebody requesting followers, and about 25 of you responded.
Be honest with me, when following other members Pinterest accounts, do you really look at them?
Or do you just hit Follow, eager to get a follow in return?
With this particular example, the relevant person had not created any pins or saved any pins or set up any boards, whatsoever.
Other than a couple of sentences of description the profile was empty.
Think about this in real life, if you were not a member of WA.
How would you have found that account, and more to the point, why would you follow it?
Don't you think that kind of behavior is going to raise a red flag to Pinterest?
And here's another point.
The short description of the account made it clear it was going to be food related.
And none of the people that are now following it, have any interest in the food niche.
Your associated websites were on a whole range of niches, nothing to do with food.
So, when that person does start creating pins, and they pop up in your feed, what are you going to do?
You probably will scroll straight past, not clicking on them and certainly not adding them to a board, because they are not relevant.
So, if nobody is interested in these pins, Pinterest will stop showing them and their account will fail.
So, not only have you raised suspicion in your own account, but you have doomed somebody else to failure!
Maybe a strong way of putting it, but I wanted to get my point across!
Right, if you can all reassure me that you have optimized your accounts, then I will resume training next time!

Hey Diane!!! I'm following every step (I had never used Pinterest for business before) but I can't find where to organize my boards... I have every pin classified, but when I enter my profile it shows them all, not my boards.... can you point me in the right direction? thanks for all your valuable help!!
Hi - when you are on your own profile, it shows you your "created" pins initially, but above the pins, there is a tab that says "saved" - this should show your boards.
Ok, that was easy... But lately My brain refuses to think... Or Even cooperate!! Thanks Diane!
That is kind of silly chastising her for a long post!
Her point is to optimize your pinterest account before you continue adding pins. Also she made the point that you need relevant followers to your account. So don't just follow people in random niches.
Thank you Brie, you should see his comment about one of my other posts which he describes as "complete crap!"
I saw that and responded. I take issue with rude behavior! That was certainly uncalled for and completely disrespectful; especially to someone as dedicated to this platform as you. I have been looking forward to every post in this series!
Obviously, you didn't take note of what was said in a previous post, if you don't like the post don't bother reading or commenting if you plan on being rude to a fellow member who is actually helping others.
If you continue to be rude to awesome members then you need to shove it somewhere else where your head belongs.
My account is there. I did it under business but I am not sure if thats the right one. Jay has a training about it too. I did watch that. Some visual things Jay did with it related to his new blog post about Candy Making website. I have to read and figure out how this works. I got my photo set up but I need to the more as you said here on what to do. 5 pins for each day? Im not sure where I am going with this. I am going in there blindly! Oh Blimey-me!

Hi Diane,
It seems off to me that you were able to find so many ignoring fundamentals that are usually mentioned by folks trying to sell Pinterest how to training for free as a lead in to the sale. I've also noticed you've mentioned these areas yourself here in posts as your links demonstrate.
I don't understand folks who have time to haphazardly perform actions, get horrid results and then continue on without letting that be a wakeup call. Especially anyone who has exposure to your tutorials here, as you have shared proof of FANTASTIC results, and I do mean fantastic.
I notice you have one comment here that had the audacity to complain about the length of your revisiting the basics here. Contrary to some of the comments about the person, at least they are honest that they refuse to implement anything more than one step strategies at the most. Rude about it, yes, but it's important for them to have others know they own their limitations (low attention span).
So I commend them more than those who will pretend they are soaking this valuable information up but also operate from the same point. Those folks will likely be time wasters, complaining and asking the same questions you have answered multiple times over time.
Thank you so much for revisiting the foundation here of how an account is to be structured. I appreciate the time you generously give here for information folks are typically bundling together into courses.
Regards,
Jason
Thank you for your compliment, and I will be happy to stay in touch when you leave!
You are very generous in your thoughts about one particular comment.
Given that they have also said one of my other posts was "complete crap" I find it difficult to see any positives in their behaviour!
Hi Diane,
I appreciate your invitation to stay in touch. You're one of my mentors here so for sure will be taking advantage of that.
I agree overall that there isn't much upside to the person who has targeted you with negativity. Other than it's important for them to make sure everyone identifies how petty and rude they are. I do appreciate when folks are adamant we see their true selves.
I can only imagine if they ever somehow get traffic to a site how they will handle comments they feel are lengthy.
Out of curiosity I went to look at their profile and am shocked at how long they've been here to have this mindset. The part that really ups the ante is where he says,
"Peace, Love, and Light to all. May we all live long and prosper."
Regards,
Jason
