THE POWER OF THREE ... a Life Lesson from your Coach

Three is a fantastic number. It holds great power. Three is easy on the eye … we can look at a group of things and easily see three, two doesn't seem as appealing and two is not enough choices, four is too many, starts to appear distracting and we begin to get confused. The brain readily accepts and is comforted by three choices, three colors, three questions, three words … like “I love you”.

Three is a very important, almost mystical number, and it has been so for all time. A few examples are:

The basic structure of life – carbohydrates, protein and fat … or electron, proton and neutron. There are three dimensions of time – past, present and future. Three forms the basic structure of stories – beginning, middle and end. Three plays a big part in fairy tales – three wishes, three little pigs and the three bears. What about the three wise men? There are three stages of truth – first a concept is rejected, second it is violently opposed and third it is accepted as self evident. Three is enough to create a series – a pattern of cause and effect. Three shows up in mythology – three fates, three muses, three graces … and the list goes on … three is the charm, three strikes and you're out, three is a lucky number, etc.

Three ideas or three solutions are psychologically and emotionally enough for you to feel confident and comfortable with making a choice. When you are confident and comfortable with your choice you are much more likely to accept and follow through with it. We can harness the “power of three” and use it as a tool, to create concepts, set goals, tell our stories, make decisions, and find solutions.

Using FUTURE dreams ... that were inspired by our PAST ... helps us create our PRESENT goals.

Once our business is producing ... and time, money, and distance is no longer a factor in our lives ... using the power of three ... give me three people you would love to meet, 3 places you wish to visit, and 3 things you want to do!

3 people I want to meet: The Dalai Lama, A Nobel Peace Prize Winner, and Tim Gunn.

3 places I want to visit: Costa Rican Cloud Forest, Venice, Italy Waterways, the Fjord's of Norway.

3 things I want to do: Zip line in the rain forest, white water raft the Grand Canyon, hike the Great Wall of China.

Go ... tell it to me!

Coach, Melody

PS: Take the time to list your dreams, and to read the others! This is a great big caring, sharing, pay-it-forward WORLD WIDE community ... you never know when someone out there can point you in the right direction ... give you a boost ... or hook you up to reaching one of your dreams! M

Okay Melody I've thought about it and here you are (yes there's a bit of a concurrence thing going on but I can't help that!)

Meet: My mum (she died when I was six so it's not going to happen, but I still want a word with her, lol). Stephen Hawking. Joseph, haha!

Visit: The Grand Canyon. Rio de Janeiro. Venice

Do: Learn to play the piano. Be successful online. Move to a house with a garden. Yes, I have a lovely view but no garden :(

Our wishes are not so far apart:)Peter

Someday you'll see your mum again. Not soon .... I hope! As for the others ... well keep working ... we're on our way! M

And all can be yours, my dear Loes, have faith ... work hard ... and believe. PS: Take me with you when you go to meet ZouZou ... I'd like that, too! M
PS: If we work hard enough we can meet at the conference in Vegas, LOL! I need to go to bed now ... it's 3 AM here and I'n getting tired! M

That would be so wonderfull! Then I would come on 4 people to met:) with your presents, goodnight sleep Melody, here the day just started, Loes

If no one had any wacky ideas ... we would not even be able to communicate with all of of our wonderful friends around the world in a forum like this! So ... wacky idea away! M

Good post Melody. I totally agree with you on the three thing, I always think of the father, son and holy ghost, even though I'm not particularly religious! I will ponder my threes.

I'll be waiting. M

1. The Dalai Lama; Sir Robin Knox Johnston; Barack Obama (and I am a not even an American)

3. Iceland, China, Amazon (this was easy but possibly the most difficult having to choose just 3)! (I wanted to add "The Moon" but not quite possible yet but see below).

3. Space flight (possible with Virgin Galactic if I had $250K spare); I would love to get involved in one of the charities that works in places like Vietnam and Africa building schools, such as World Teacher Aid; sail around the World in the Round The World Clipper Race.

The Universe offers unlimited abundance ... we need to put our dreams out there is all their glory ... and move forward with faith and conviction that the how and the way will be provided! Always keeping an open mind so we don't miss the opportunity! M

Great post, Melody! I need some time to think about my "threes."

Keep me posted! M

Three is also the advised optimum number of "talking points" advised by PR specialists and speech writers! BTW, I have been to Venice. And I want to go back someday when the moon is full. I will skip your exercise. Too tired. And my blogs have all been about numbers... three is about movement, so I am moving myself to bed! :) Oh, and thanks for this. I enjoyed it very much.

lovely thank you... keep up the good work... AM

Thank you. M

It's very true Melody.
All the best,
Brandon

Thank you. M

You are very right Melody, I study numerology, there's also the trilogy, the trimester, and of course Trinity. Easy as 1 2 3 ! My Birthday is even 1-23 (1966), I believe in the power of three and how much meaning it holds in architecture, mathematical equations and science.
You notice I mentioned 3 every time....
Thanks for a great post, I am never going to be able to blog with you around...Lol!
Have a great evening!
Kim

Thank you. Hey - where's you answers? YOUR three people, places & things ... to do? M

First I have to ask - does this mean I need a second or third husband? Because with a second husband there would be three of us, but with a third... oh I'm all confused ;)

People: Steve Martin, Pat Conroy, Danny Elfman
Places: Scotland again, France, Washington State
Want to do: Become a bestselling author, buy my dream home, zipline... somewhere, maybe on my own property

Excellent ... be sure to write them down ... or put them on your vision board! M
