It was a dark and stormy night.

This is how Charlie Brown's faithful dog, Snoopy, always starts his stories. And since it was a dark and stormy last night here in San Antonio when I wrote this, I'm running with it.

The wind is really whipping. I have palm trees in my back yard that sway back and forth with the wind. We often wonder just what it will take to bring them down, as palm trees are notorious for having shallow root systems. The wind blowing the palm fronds around and the neighboring trees make it sound like it's really coming down. It's raining sideways! The rain is hitting the fire place chimney and it's seriously loud. Hopefully, Jack will sleep through the worst of it. We timed his bedtime so that he would ideally be asleep as the storm came in - not my first rodeo with little ones and storms!!

It's supposed to rain much of the night, which is good because we really need the rain. It's been a relatively dry fall. There's something kind of comforting and relaxing about storms - (as long as you're inside, all cozy and dry). Which, thankfully, we are!

Insert power loss here. It's about 40 degrees cooler than it was 2 days ago. The storm is over but the wind continues. 4-6 inches of rain later, the flooding will continue in low water crossings for a few days. Quite a storm and quite a change in the weather following it!

What a difference a day makes! One day sunny, summer time temperatures, followed by a storm, thunder, lightning, howling winds, torrential rain and sweater weather. Next day, all sunny again.

The World of WA is a lot like that too. Challenges, obstacles and frustrations one day. Ranking another. Storms don't last, but they bring things that we need. Challenges test us, make us grow, help us build confidence and perseverance. Storms help us appreciate the sunshine.

I may be in a bit of a storm right now, but it won't last long. The sun will come back out. I'l be writing like crazy and advancing further in this arena. But today isn't the day. I greatly appreciate the kind words and encouragement until my sun comes out again.

Wow, those stormy nights when all I want is to hide under the blankets as the rain hounds against my bedroom window. So nasty and disturbing.

After some restless sleep, the morning arrives bringing sunshine and warmth.

This appears to be a familiar weather pattern around the world.

As you say, Christine, WA is a lot like that. I believe we are better for it. Members share their success as well as their difficulties with regard to affiliate marketing. We can learn much from WA members. When I compare my years at WA against previous years trying alone to make sense of affiliate marketing, I am so grateful for what I have available here. I'm certainly not perfect and I have my down days but the sun always comes out and lightens the load.

Sending you best wishes for warmth and sunshine tomorrow.

Valerie

WA is a wonderful umbrella as we move along in this arena. Don't know what I would do without it and without y'all being on this great adventure along with me. Thanks so much for checking in!

Christine

My pleasure, Christine.
Thank you :)

There is always sunshine after the rain. Therefore, there is always hope after a loss or despair. That means we never have to give up of our goals. Its achievement is just around the corner if we just don’t give up. Thanks for sharing. Happy week-end, Cheers! —Benjie

Thanks for checking in, Benjie! Always great to hear from you! Christine

I appreciate that. So am I with you.

I prefer the rain and wind. It cleanses the air, versus wind gust, fire and soot flying everywhere, bad for people’s health, lungs particularly. That is what we have here in California. I have to sweep the floor of our enclosed patio due to the wind blowing in some soot and dusts. We had clouds of smoke yesterday and the sun trying to shine through the smoke looked eerie and weird!

My in-laws live in Palm Desert and my sister in law is in the LA area. There are times she can't get to PD because of fires and smoke. Wish I could send y'all rain. Know the smoke and dust are really bad. Hang in!

The one thing you can rely on is that the sun will most definitely come out again. In the meantime you'll just have to put up with our rays and sunshine in the comments. You've got this Christine.

You can always count on the sum coming out again. And I'll take sunshine from friends any day! Thanks for checking in!

You are not alone Christine, just know that. We all are facing storms just in different times. I also took three to four months break just after joining WA, I barely started anything at the time. I came back and still have my ups and downs, such is life.

It be's that way. We're in it together and together, we'll get there. Thanks for checking in.

Good Morning Christine,

I am living close to Malaga and here the rain is lacking badly.
The end of April was the last rain before summer. Then on the 13 September the first rain and after that nothing anymore. The watering program for the garden is the same as in the summer.
In September and now recently there were very destructive floodings up the Mediterranean coast. Whole villages flooded, cars and people washed out to the sea, really bad. The weather is not anymore what it used to be, it is going from one extreme to the other.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Oh my! That is extreme weather. How very tragic that people lost their lives. Amazing the power of weather, wind and rain. Here it seems to be an all or nothing situation as it is there. Hope things settle down for you there.

Best wishes from San Antonio!

Christine

Always an interesting read Christine. We all have stormy days and I find it best to do something I love indoors and reset for tomorrow.

Sending you lots of sunshine from Australia, we can spare some today.

Lily

Thanks, Lily! The sun returned, but it's still about 30 degrees cooler than just a few days ago. Amazing how the weather turns so quickly. But I guess it is the end of October, so fall here, in South Texas. I think y'all are moving towards spring? I'm never really sure how it all works out there....

Have a great weekend!

Christine

Supposed to be spring but hot, cold, up and down.
Today it feels more like summer.

Lily

I like your stuff .. good ... writing ...
thanks Tim

Thanks, Tim! Appreciate your taking time to read my humble musings and dropping a note. Always great to hear from you. Have a great evening!

It's rained all day (Friday) here where I live in Arkansas and is not supposed to quit until sometime tomorrow morning. I loved your analogy of storms with our WA learning experiences. I hate storms, but our inner storms and how we handle them are what make us as a person and how our WA experiences and how we handle them, will or will not make us successful business people (I can't spell that other word for what we are trying to become, lol).

Charlotte

Hi, Charlotte! You're probably getting what we had last night. Hard to imagine that there's anything left to that system!!! Hope it's not too bad for you there. Glad you liked this one. Always great to hear from you. Appreciate your taking the time to read my humble offerings and dropping a note.

Have a great evening!

Christine

Great post and I'm glad you guys are okay! That is a lot of rain! We have similar changes in the weather in Colorado but it tends to be snow that affects us. :D We always weather the storms and continue on after it subsides. You're right! It's a lot like building an online business. Thanks for the great story and analogy. :)
Paula

Thanks, Paula! Glad you liked this one. It was quite a storm! Appreciate your taking time to check in.
