I just recently added another user to my site and switched my gravatar to the new user.

Now all my previous site comments no longer have a picture associated since it n

Thanks everyone! It’s all figured out.
Much love for taking the time to help out

Nice work Chrissy

Triblu, has you covered. you can always trust her answers.

Hi Christine, wow lots of answers. I would create a new gravatar. All the best.

I think you have got some great answers there, best of luck with your gravatar

Hey Christine,

Here's Kyle's video on this topic: If you don't find what you need from this, there are other resources offered here at WA. See screen print below to see how you can find them.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks, Triblu, I need the refresher training as well. I have one Gravatar account, But I did not understand we could have more than one account. Thanks for the refresher.
Sandy

You can change the comments to the new user...you can also add your Gravitar image to multiple accounts or, more accurately, add multiple accounts to Gravitar.

I recommend the user approach if that's the user you plan to use going forward for this site and you don't have too many comments already. I forget the steps to add multiple accounts to Gravitar but you should be able to do it relatively easy from the Gravitar dashboard.

To do this simply go to your site dashboard and then navigate to Comments. Here you can edit the comments and change the author information.

I hope this helps.

Hi Chrissy, go to Wordpress and search for the wp plugin avatar and select setting, then you can scroll down and change your avatar picture.

The easiest would be to create a gravitar for your old address.

- Glen B

You should delete the old admin user then set up the avatar for the new one

When requesting comments which post would you focus on?

I have a post that was indexed with google quickly and last I checked was on page 4. I have 3 comments on that po

This comes down to a few factors. Usually you want to use comments to quickly get your posts indexed with Google, but they are also to raise your rankings.

The primary focus for comments requested should be on posts or pages you intend to make money with. That's not to say you can't request comments on topical posts, but your reviews and product posts should warrant the most attention/traffic.

It's important not to lose sight of the goal, to make money on your blog. All topical posts should be indexed and direct your readers/viewers to your products. If you aren't making money, you will burn out eventually and deprive everyone the chance to read and learn from you.

In short, if your keyword is killer, or your post has the potential to make you more money than others, there should be more comments on it.

Hope this helps :)

Awesome! Thanks for clarifying. I’m not quite at that point yet, still don’t have products or reviews. But will definitely keep this in mind for when I’m further along.

Thanks for the reply!

Glad I could help. Maybe check out this post on WA, it will no doubt give you clarity to get started with WA.

Great article! Thanks for the link

Depending on what your site is about, you might consider requesting comments on the posts that will have the biggest impact on society. Eventually, you want all of them.

It's hard to say. I'm focusing on working my way from oldest to newest posts. Maybe something like 5 comments per post is a good start, but that may also depend on how much available content you have on your site.

I’m just wondering if I should be spreading my requested comments to all my posts or if I should focus them on the post I know is currently doing better

Not sure if that makes sense?

I think, since your site is still so new, I'd focus on getting comments on one post at a time. It may take a little longer, but more comments and your replies to those comments will help boost your engagement rankings and help google perceive you as an authority. The post I chose to ask for comments on, is informational only, except maybe for some Adsense and banner ads on the page. That post is currently not even ranking in the top 10, so I'm hoping more activity will help Google "see" it. I hope that makes sense.

Ok thank you! Truly appreciate you taking the time to help

Hi, Chrissy you can ask for comments on any of your pages.

Thanks for the reply, I know I can request comments for all posts... what I’m wondering is - should I focus my comments on posts that are further in google pages to try to get traffic, or should I get more traction on the post I know will do better

Hi Chrissy yes you can but the more posts you have comments on the more you will be noticed in Google, so mix it up a little to improve it.
Dave

Perfect thanks!

I’ve searched and have been getting conflicting answers...

For post images what should I be using for the Title, Caption, Alt Text, and Description?

It look

Image SEO

File Name (before upload): Name the file something descriptive that contains your keyword if it's the first image, otherwise have it contain some LSI keywords. This webinar has info on LSI keywords: Title: Good enough to just match this to the image file name. The file name should be descriptive anyway, and contain exact keyword or LSI keywords.

If you are using dashes in your file name, I'd remove the dashes, but I don't really think it matters either way.

Alt Text: This is for the vision impaired. It should be a description of the image as if you were reading it to a blind person. Try to fit your keyword in here for your title image, or one image on the page.

Description: Similar to title, but there's no real information online on how to properly use the description, or how it differs from the title and Alt Text, or why it's important.

For an important post, I try to fill it out anyway. For other content, especially low-competition pages, I don't fill it out to save time. My philosophy is to make the description 1-2 sentences about how this image is related to the article, what the image is about and how it relates to the topic.

Caption: This is the only one readers see. Though you do not have to fill this out, I like to do it to further optimize my post, and also provide context for the image so readers can skim the page.

Many people will just read titles and look at images. Adding a caption gives them context for the image, and can enhance their understanding of your page.

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain! Its been clear as mud lol. This simplified it

Is there a way to change the file name of working from an iPhone?

Check out this blog it should help you out.
/my.wealthyaffiliate.com/leoemery/blog/this-is-not-what-alt-text-is-for

Captions can be left blank, but shouldn't be. Majority of website visitors read the captions. Adding a caption is a great way to emphasize and add to the image. have you ever seen a picture on a news/newspaper website without a caption?

When you have an image you want to use it should already have a description of what the image is.

If you believe its not descriptive then change it BEFORE you upload it to your Media Library.

This description will be its Title.

Then you come to the Alt Text
You should enter a keyword phrase that compliments what the image title is.

In the Description box you should elaborate on this.

Then you can choose position (left, right or center).

You can also add a link.

Then you insert it into your post.

This is the correct way to do it and if anyone else says different don't pay any heed.

Robert
