such A Sad Sad Day
After waking up this morning with a really sore throat, sore ears and feeling absolutely rubbish, I then came across some really sad news this afternoon that has left me numb.
There are probably a few people here who knew that I loved the Overtones and their music and had just been to see and meet them in December. My second time of meeting them but my 7th time of seeing them in concert.
Anyway back to what I was talking about.
I was checking my phone earlier when I noticed a message that had been posted by the guys in the band and what I read really stopped me in my tracks.
Timmy Matley
Although they all sang, Timmy did tend to sing a lot of the songs so I always looked on him being the lead singer.
The message from guys in the band was telling their fans that poor Timmy has passed away. I am still finding it hard to think on it as being real and keep thinking it a joke and someone will tell me it's all unreal.
So sorry folks, I just feel out of sorts tonight and I also have an upper respiratory viral infection hence the sore ears/throat etc.
So a CRAP day all round folks.

I'm sorry to hear this, Cheryl. Just out of curiosity I watched a couple of their videos on YouTube, and they really are good. Sad that Timmy Matley has passed on.

Thank you very much Susan, They were really good to listen to and even better to see live. The best part was getting to meet them live, not just once either. It just won't be the same if there is only 4 and not 5 as usual. It is so so sad.

Get some rest, I think Chez and take it easy for a while. It’s probably the best thing you can do.

I know Wayne, I couldn't believe it when I saw it today, I actually said to Hayley "They're taking the mick, that can't be true". We knew he had been battling stage 3 skin cancer but he said in December at the concert he as in remission and according to the paper he had fell of a balcony but not sure.
I will do if I get a chance to, plenty rest, plenty fluids, paracetamol, and ice cream but no cornets up my nose as you said they didn't work lol.
I will probably come on and do wee bits and pieces when I can concentrate so if I go missing you'll know whats happened lol.
How are you feeling now? xxx
We lost one of my young cousins a while back, 7 years old, it's a shock when you see a coffin so small.
Without noticing, there has been so many of these sad situations over the years and I think indirectly, it's all part of ourselves and does make us stronger as individuals.
There is no getting away from these shocks, we just go to better places, is the way I am learning to live with these shocks.
I am well, flu-less and my strength nearly back to normal.
Still to many background irritations but I'm a battler Chez, I always do the honest and right things and accountable, unlike the others I have to deal with.
The day is bright, I am alert and now I am hungry!
I hope the sickness doesn't linger to long!

That must have been so hard, it's bad enough someone passing away but when they are so young.
I agree with you totally Wayne, and we have all been affected and have learned how to live with the shocks and we do all learn to get through it in our own ways. We do always come away from these things being stronger in ourselves.
I am pleased to hear that you are flu-less and almost feeling back to square one.
You are like myself Wayne, that is my problem sometimes though I am too honest, too loyal and always accountable and doesn't always pay to be that way but we are what we are and we shouldn't have to change or be like others to please others.
You are very lucky Mr if you have a bright day and you are alert. I hope you have been for something to eat and not cereal by now lol.
I hope it doesn't linger either Wayne.

Busy with preparing for the trip to Holland.

It is always sad when a musician we loved to hear passes on. Their music lives on and that is what we have to cherish. Hope you get well soon.
Hi Harvey, thank you and you are right their music will always live on. It was just so unexpected and he was only 36, still had his life ahead of him. I don't know what the rest of the guys will do, if they will carry on without him or if they will split. I hope they won't split but it will be strange him not being there.
