That's me, making sure that I stay close to the Prince so that I do not miss anything.

Thankfully, food is always available, so I was able to nibble on some cheese in the process.

Featured Comments

So back to the main reason for this post.

While going over some of the Prince's Potions last night, I realised that Featured Comments were popping up.

It seems that many of us value the common-sense simplicity of what we are learning from the Prince.

Les summed it up very well and deserved a Featured Comment.

And Les is not the only one.

Shannon is just shy of 3 more 'Likes' before getting a Featured Comment.

Don't Delay!

So why is all this happening?!

Well, the Prince's Potions work.

That's it.

Simple.

If you haven't sampled them yet, I STRONGLY recommend that you start today.

Learn how to rank number 1 on Google and much more.

You will not be disappointed.

Featured Comment

I'll just add some points:

The "Featured Comment" is achieved when you receive 10 likes for your comment.

Unless of course you are Kyle or Carson, who have the ability to make their comment "Featured" whether it has zero likes or 100.

I don't know, those two reprobates acting like they own the place.

Hold on, oh yeah, they do!!

The featured comment will then obviously be "featured" as the top/first reply to either a blog post or question.

However, the platform underwent a slight update last week, and you'll now notice your own comment at the top of the page whenever you visit a blog post or question.

"Featured Comments" can be two-fold.

Simply, a popularity contest.

I have often seen a basic reply of "Great Post" achieve the Featured Comment by a more popular member (I won't be controversial and mention that some members have more than one account and go around liking their own comments for internal ranking purposes... oops.I just mentioned it)

Whereas, another member provides an in-depth answer, really goes into detail, but receives less "likes" and therefore doesn't obtain the featured comment.

This is why I always say to read ALL the comments whenever you read a blog post or question that you wish to be part of and provide a reply.

In fact, I often find the comments section to be a veritable goldmine.

Wouldn't you say?

Secondly, and more importantly, someone achieves the Featured Comment because they have garnered so many "likes" purely because of the great information they have provided.

Finally, I've just noticed from your screen shot for Shannon, you have not "liked" her comment yourself.

How Rude!!!

She could've had 8 "likes" if you hadn't completely ignored her comment, and yet featured it on your blog post.

Oh dear, Lady of the Islands, poor show!!! Hahaha

Partha

There is something Machiavellian about you, Prince - I can easily imagine you with a Van Dyke beard, a pitchfork and some light-up devil horns; sitting in front of your laptop going 'Mwhahahahaha''

Dom D-Dom Dom Dom,

Funnily enough, one of the most uttered phrases towards me in the "real world" is:

"You Can't Say That Out Loud"

To which I usually reply:

"I Just Did"

I definitely have a "trouble-making gene" somehwere, but it's usually always harmless and in good fun.

Partha

Thank you for explaining the importance of ten. Let's see ten spam complaints to get a write ban, ten accounts to like your own post. Ten likes to be featured. No wonder they say the power of ten

My Dearest Prince Partha.

I will revert and correct that immediately!
Perhaps in my haste (again) to ensure that the WA Subjects learn from our Princely Genius, I overlooked that.

It will not happen again.

On another note, this resonates and deserves a repeat:

"This is why I always say to read ALL the comments whenever you read a blog post or question that you wish to be part of and provide a reply.

In fact, I often find the comments section to be a veritable goldmine.

Wouldn't you say?"

Absolutely!!

The Lady bows . . . lowly.

Cassi

We need a 'LOVE' button in WA, Dom!!

Cassi

Very powerful, Catherine!

I had no idea of that feature. And still don't care. I thought this post was about how to set up feature comments or testimonials on our websites. It looks like you are a "go-to" fella for stuff. I would like to ask if you know any doable way to get that done, preferable without adding more plugins.

And this comment is proof that the comment section is a goldmine, as you said above. So, from now on, I make it, as a rule, to read through them. Cheers!

You probably don't want to hear this then, but yes there is a featured comment plugin for WordPress (I know no-one needs another plugin).

I would only ever install it if you have a large, regular following on your site or even lots of subscribers.

You can use it to "reward" regular commentors on your blog - it's basic human nature (in most cases) to feel good about being in the spotlight (and no, before you ask, I go against the grain and feel embarrassed by it).

You can also used the featured comments plugin on your site to push "unhelpful" comments further down the page.

Of course, you could just delete them, but if your site has a large following and people who regularly comment, you don't want to be accused of censorship.

As for the Wealthy Affiliate feature (of featured comments), it's like many of the other "small wins" on the platform.

Used correctly, you can leverage these things if you are promoting Wealthy Affiliate.

As members, we typically understand that many of the internal "wins" have no real relevance or value, but you can certainly use them to your advantage.

Potential new sign ups may be impressed by an "Ambassador" who has a plethora of "featured comments" and regularly features in the "Top 10 Blogs".

As I say, once here, there is no real advantage to any of these things, but you can of course use them as a marketing tool when promoting yourself and promoting Wealthy Affiliate.

And don't forget that a well optimized WA blog has the ability to rank organically too.

Partha

Thanks for that. And yes, it makes all good sense. I won't need featured comments then. The theme already has something that shows the latest commentsโ€”a widget. I'll use that instead, then.

Yes, I understand what you are saying about the WA ranking system. However, I'm not a social fella, so I don't really care about it.

I always want to make more money by doing less. That sentence may not make much sense by itself. I could support it with some context, but I rather do that if you ask. Otherwise, it might get you sleepy.

Again thanks for the advice.

Cheers!

Hahaha, don't worry, I totally get you.

I also remember you mentioning before that weren't much of a "social fella".

Plus, what you've said here is the eventual goal for everyone - "Doing less, Making more money".

Spot on.

That's the whole point as far as I'm concerned.

The internal stuff at WA is simply ONE way to position yourself as an "expert", and only really of any use in you're in the MMO niche.

I'm sure you know as well as me there are many, many, many OTHER ways to do this.

Partha

We do Cassi, we do!

Roger that. I love MMO games but never thought of it as a niche. Hm you just gave me a gold egg. I'll see if I can hatch it.

Ta!

๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for the edification Cassi. I saw it first on Partha's post as well and wondered how it was achieved...and I see the Prince couldn't help himself but respond with another precious nugget which also 'earned' him a Gold-starred Featured Comment (the gold star is mine...but you get the picture! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Maria

Maria, that was actually done intentionally.

I felt that I have been gaining so much from the Prince that if I left a window in, he would walk in and show his crown.

So happy that he did, wrote and showed how it works.

Thank you!

Cassi

Okay. I don't get it. Other than some Prince adornment, I couldn't filter out the point here. Would you please clarify what you meant to say about featured comments? Is it something we can set up on our website? That'd be cool. I couldn't figure out yet how.

Thanks! Cheers!

Andy,

Thank you for pointing out my lack of clarity.

Partha, explained more about Featured Comments in his comment below. :-)

Cassi

Oh, okay, thank you. I'll read that, then.

๐Ÿ™‚

I agree; it does work.
Looking forward to the next partha's portion.
And thank you for the post link up.

You are welcome, Muslimah.

They are the best, Cassi!

Jeff

They are, Jeff.

Thank you.
Cassi

You're very welcome, Cassi! ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘
