How to Succeed in Social Media Marketing

It is NO secret that I am an advocate for using Social Media to help market our online businesses. But in order to know how to succeed in Social Media Markeing, you need to know how to approach it.

DO ONE AT A TIME WHEN STARTING

There is no need to rush into anything unfamiliar. Succeeding in social media marketing takes time, a lot of it. But as Kyle has said many times and also others who have been doing this kind of online business we are all engaged with here at Wealthy Affiliate, you need to keep working and eventually YOU WILL see results.

The same is true with social media, but if you keep at it everday for about 30 minutes a day, spread out into three 10-minute sessions or two 15-minute sessions, a couple of months down the road you will start to see results.

So when first starting pick one social media network and work with it everyday for about 2 or 3 weeks before starting with another network. This is how I approached my self-education into the social media marketing (SMM) of my website and affiliate links.

WHY FACEBOOK TRAINING TOOK SO LONG

Like I said above, succeeding in social media marketing takes time and I do not create training just for the heck of it. I need to see results before I recommend anything to anyone, otherwise the training is worthless.

But another reason why the Facebook training took so long was because it was the LAST of the 4 major networks that I started using for my social media marketing. I started with Google+ because of how it slightly benefits your Google rankings where the other networks do not.

Then I started Twitter and Pinterest within a week of each other. So I had 3 networks I went full force on and if you look at how many organic non-paid-for followers I have on each of them, I am 2000 and above. But Facebook remained mostly for personal networking with family and friends.

NOW FACEBOOK IS INTEREST NUMBER 1

For the past 2 or 3 months, Facebook has been my focus and now that I have a better grasp of how to get results by way of clicks, increased traffic to my website, and an increase in referrals (not all referrals become members - which is why you will never see me send out those ridiculous 'welcome my new blank profile referral' emails).

So being that I know more about SMM on Facebook, and my organic followers are on the rise currently at 658, I created training over the course of a couple days and published it here in WA yesterday Wednesday Sept. 16, 2015. I teach you why engaging in Facebook Groups is better than having a Facebook Page.
