So I'm the person on the right. obviously. I'm Ruth, and I when I joined Wealthy Affiliate, I certainly didn't scrimp on the research. I spent hours looking into it. But three days into the free trial, I knew immediately that this was legitimate and it was for me. I had to be involved. So I dug in.

I am a mum, as you can tell, but I used to work in marketing in Central London for years. It was a hard slog, long hours and lots of 'client socialising'. But what no one told me is that when you have kids everything changes.. more than you can imagine! And now the thought of an hour and half commute into London to work 12 hour days has absolutely no appeal. So I wanted to do something I can do from home, so that I can pick my kids up from school - that's my dream.

I have already set up an online business designing personalised typographic prints which I have enjoyed but to be honest it hasn't been that successful in terms of sales volumes. The main thing for me was to work from home, so I stumbled across Wealthy Affiliate, entirely by accident. So now I am concentrating on building a couple of affiliate sites and still progressing with my typographic prints, so I am super busy.

But I am loving every minute of my journey here. It's the best decision I have ever made!

I would happy earning about £600 a month but would be ecstatic to earn £2000 a month. I have a part time job at the moment which I would give up to work more on this if I can make it happen. I am happy to work evenings and weekends to get there. Do i sound greedy!?

What is it you are having trouble with. Not that I can help but I would be interested to her about pitfalls, who knows maybe I can help as I'm full of spirit about it at the moment!

Love your enthusiasm Rmaisey. I'm struggling with narrowing down on my music niche. There are so many musicians seeking help. Examples:
- Help with what kind of gear to buy
- Help marketing their music
- Help getting gigs
- Help learning how to play music

Currently, I'm not sure which group I want to help. That is, who I'll be passionate about helping for the long run.

I'm leaning towards helping people learn how to play music because helping musicians "earn a living" is pretty farfetched (know this from hard experience).

Thoughts?

Whatever you troubles are,you have a family here at Wealthy Affiliate and you are not along. Don't let personal obstacles stop you from achieving your goals. In the past I made many excuses as to why I could not excel in anything and guess what those people that were in my way, I had to step over them and keep it moving. Have a great day and live for you!

I prefer the one helping them learn how to play music, it sounds much more achievable as I would imagine getting into the music industry itself it a whole different world!

Thanks Kyle. I have designed my website in Joomla so I wonder if working with the affiliates in the same way is possible in terms of technically amending my site. Im not particularly proficient with coding or anything... (ps I still don't fully understand the process, so apologies for my ignorance!)

You don't have to use the website platform here if you don't want. You can use an existing site that you already have set-up with the training here or you can start fresh. You will ideally want to be on Wordpress as it is a much easier to use and widely support platform (definitely within WA as well).

Sometimes with an existing site there may be some things that you have done in the past that could be hurting your rankings (backlinks, spun content, duplicate content, low quality content), so starting fresh and doing things properly from the start can be advantageous. But this is totally up to you.

Either way, I am here to help you along the way Ruth!

Hi there

I'm loving your training at the moment and it's all very clear. I'm keen to become a premium member so far but I have a lot of work and commitments on right at this moment. So my question is, if I join for say 3 months and then realise I can't give it the full time, and then cancel for say 6 months and then rejoin when I can work out how to fit it all in , is that something I can do? As I don't want to be paying the $47 dollars when I can only spend a few hours in the month working on it, if that turns out to be the case. Thanks for your time.

Ruth

You cannot downgrade, but you will be able to resubscribe to your Premium account at any time and reconnect your membership (when you can make it back). ;)

We also host your website for 30 days beyond the cut off date, which gives you time to still work on it or move it to another host in the meantime.

Hope this clarifies for you Ruth!

Yeah, that sounds exactly like me when I got rolling. It is a good "addiction" to have this Internet business stuff...and it only gets more and more exciting as you continue to evolve with your business. :)

i have a quick question kyle if you are around...

I'm a bit stuck. Here is my site www.simplyprams.com. If i wanted a place where people can compare prams and use my information and reviews to do this, and then go on to buy, essentially I would need to create a page that delivers pram recommendations. which would have a list of various prams, listed by brands, on it. Or ideally what I would do is create a table whereby they check off the requirements of the pram they want and it delivers them their ideal solution. Is this possible? Am I getting the gist of this wrong? So I would need to include alot of affiliate links in one page. A bit like this, but better http://www.whatstroller.co.uk/ Is that even possible / allowed by google? Would this be an affiliate page?

Ideally I would need to feature the product images from each specific pram where relevant. Do you go over how to use these? I keep jumping ahead of myself!

What you can do is provide a break down of the products on the one page and then offer people more in depth reviews on the products on their own page (where you have all of he affiliate links).

This may be the best approach for SEO and will allow you to build out your website in a way where you are targeting MANY products within your reviews.
