UPDATE - Since the publishing of this tutorial, Pinterest has changed to look of their website. Though the look has changed, none of the functionalities listed in this tutorial has changed.

Though Facebook, Twitter, and even Google+ are much larger than Pinterest, you should know how to use Pinterest to promote your business. In this training tutorial I will be teaching you a couple of ways to help get your website more traffic through Pinterest.

PEOPLE ARE VISUAL BY NATURE

The most powerful sense is sight and many times you can get a message across to someone better when an image is used. This is the reason that a website with images is going to rank better than a website that has no images.

Think about it! If you came to a website that was just a long page of nothing but text, would you enjoy reading it? Heck would you even start to read it? A first impression means everything! I know for me, and many others too, when I see a website that has no images or at the very least no Heading Tags, I close the website and go someplace else.

When the eyes see nothing but text it signals the brain that it is going to be a boring experience. You have to engage your reader’s visual senses, otherwise you may very well lose that potential customer. There is a reason why “a picture is worth a thousand words.”

So it is always good to have images on your pages and posts. This not only helps to keep the readers on your page but also to make it more shareable. Now of course you cannot use any image you find online, it has to be relevant and free to use. If you haven’t seen my training for where to find Free Images that do not require attribution, check it out at the link below.

I started with Pinterest a few months back and now have 1100 followers..woo hoo! When I post a good article and add text to it, I always share it on my Pinterest wall. This has led to some traffic which will only increase over time.

This is great advice on cleaning up my boards. I thought I should have been doing that but haven't had the time.

It is now my next priority!

Thank you!

You are welcome and as you have seen, the more followers you have the more traffic you will get from not just them but those non-followers too.

Great training. I have been playing around with Pinterest and tried out a few boards. However I have not had good results from it in terms of driving traffic to my blogs.

Thank you. Just like everything having to do with website development, getting traffic from social media takes effort and time.
