No - not S&M - SM as in Social Media!

If you do any work online, you know that social media is just one of those things you need to do.

You should have at least 3 SM accounts but really more is better, depending on your niche.

Those 3 accounts - in my opinion - should be Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus - DUH - Google owns G+!

If you are in a very visual niche then you should also have a Pinterest account.

Lately I've been seeing a lot of big names on Instagram and SnapChat as well!

OMG! I hear you!

Who has time to keep up with all of those accounts?!

Thank goodness for automation tools! We use Hootsuite to schedule posts

BUT - it gets a bit tricky when it comes to Instagram and Pinterest.

Hootsuite sends a notification to the Instagram app on your phone and then you have to make a few taps to publish. I guess it's still better than having to make sure you remember.

I'll be honest - I haven't even looked at how to go about doing it in Pinterest, other than to see that it is a paid upgrade to schedule posts.

AND even still - we have been super lazy when it comes to posting to social media.

So today I finally bit the bullet. I'm a bit of an organization freak - just ask Kathy ;)

Everything I do, I have to make lists and docs in my drive to keep track of what we've done.

For example: before I even opened Hootsuite I decided to make a list of all the posts we have written which have an affiliate link. I mean, if we're going to make the effort then it should have a chance of some reward, right?

So I have my lists of posts and now I'm working out a posting schedule. I even created a doc and we wrote a short blurb for each post. This way, when I do open Hootsuite, all we have to do is copy and paste right!

This is going to save so much time in the months to come.

I'll give you another example of my freakish organizational skills. I have made a sheet that lists every product we are an affiliate for listing the name of the product and our affiliate link - in alphabetical order!

I know - I'm a freakin' weirdo, right? lol

That is just a small example of the things I do.

The other thing about SM (not S&M!) is you need good images to go with your posts.
