Due to extenuating circumstances I am not staying with WA for now and would like to know if I could sell my website that deals with alternative treatments for alzheimer's disea

Yes, you can sell your domain.
What issue are you facing now? is it because of traffic or no referrals? Those are not problems Pat. You know I have been telling myself if I am going to sell my first domain because as if I am not gaining any improvement in my content due to writer's block and SEO. It's already in its 10th month now.
You know what happened? I see it started to earn from Adsense so I was challenged and continue to think what content I'll be adding to it.
As our site matures even you don't have any affiliate programs just by the content you are putting in it, it will pay off in the future.
Just put and put and put content and be sure you have put the SEO title,
the keyword focus,
you categorize it,
you fill the meta tag
be sure your title is in the permalink correctly I am very sure Google will rank it.
have your Adsense and Analytics account

Don't be dismayed for as long as you are putting something on your site it will stay as a site. It's just like a wine that the longer it will stay Google will trust it.

Sorry to hear that you have to leave WA Pat. :-(
Hope you are able to the circumstances resolved to your liking soon. Maybe then you can come back.

www.flippa.com is most renonwed

There are sites that deal with website sales. For example, Empire Flippers I think is one. Just Google it. The price depends on your stats and earnings that are generated with the site.

Can I sell my site?

If you link is in your menu, you can go to your menu and fix it from there.

However, if it is a text link, edit the post or page that your text link is in and edit (or fix it) from there.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks so much for helping out with this!
Pat
