Images Get You Ranked in Google Too
I took the advice to not look at my stats for awhile. It has been a couple of months now.
I decided to go to Web Master Tools and take a look. It was good I did because I also saw none of my sites were verified. Even though I did all the steps a couple of months ago.
That's fixed now!
BUT, I did also look to see what keywords were ranking. 1 - 25 were all images with an average position of 1 for 11/13 through 12/13.
So I went incognito and typed in the keywords I found in WMT.
I then clicked on images at the top ...... guess what????
There I was, fourth image in the top row!
How cool is that?!

Oh I didn't search using quotes either. So, that is the right way? Hopefully I did it right this time! lol
Addition I forgot to mention:
Make sure you fill out captions, alternative text, image title attributes - it matters!.

You should fill out alternative text and attributes. It can make a difference. :)
You don't have to do it to get ranked - you keywords in you posts/pages will do that as well. I just wanted to show that images will get you ranked too. :)

I found that how you describe your pictures also counts with your ranking. Great topic thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention. JB
I meant to mention that in the blog lol. oops. I couldn't remember the correct terms. Is it called alt tags?
caption,alternative text, image title attribute. All important for google to understand why and what your picture is about. It does matter what your write in these places and will effect your ranking
I found one of my image also and it was the third one but I deleted it yesterday thinking I was doing the wrong thing. Well, something I learned today. Thanks ANGELA!
