Overwhelmed at times
I just needed to vent for a minute I think.
Do moments like this look familiar?
Ever feel like you need one of these?
Lately it feels like my ability to deal with stress has lessened. Little things that I used to be able to handle with ease are now sometimes causing that anxious feeling to build up inside.
I'm not sure what's changed. I suppose it could be a few things. I don't sleep well or for long. I have been out of my back meds for some time because I can't afford them. I did recently get my anti-inflammatory pills (yay for Wal-Mart $4 list!). I haven't had a cigarette for 42 days! OK, so that is supposed to be a good thing. I still miss it sometimes.
My mind is over flowing with all the things I want to do but it gets overwhelming and sometimes it's easier to do none. Maybe I need some other type of med - a happy pill lol.
Wouldn't it be awesome if I cold bottle up the babies' energy?! Cause they bounce off the walls! lol
I know this is temporary. I also know I have the strength to keep moving until I get through.
I don't know how to give up, it's just not in me. I do, however, have moments where I just don't try as hard.
I just put the grand kids down for their nap and I believe today is a good day for me to follow suit.

Angela, as a full time Mom trying to start a business, you are juggling a lot. Then adding nicotine withdrawal and back pain, and well, it's totally understandable that you're feeling a bit edgy! You're doing great and you are right, this too shall pass! Hang in there and punch a pillow every now and again!
I'd like to punch more than a pillow sometimes! lol
We're gonna get through this. I need to put my computer up more. That's part of the stress. Trying to work and then the kids want my attention simply because they don't have it lol.
I don't know if you'd admire it so much if you were in the middle of it lol. Oh my (in my George Takei voice), it definitely reminds me that it was the right decision for me to only have one child!
I love my grand babies but I am ready for my daughter's next break in school. That won't be until the end of Dec though.
I'll just have to try and do a lot of deep breathing between now and then. :)
Hey, Angela. There's a lot of us that recognise where you're coming from! But it sounds like you're doing great, I was off the planet 42 days after quitting smoking, but that was many many years ago so hang in there! Get some rest.
Hi Angela! I'm sure sometimes the stress gets less already if you just let it out. Or write a "rant" blog post about it LOL. I know from my mom when she quit smoking she was soo cranky. She ended up giving up and started smoking again. She didn't last for 42 days, but you did! That's a great accomplishment.
It's good to take a step back sometimes and look at what you've accomplished :) It's easy to forget when you're in the middle of it.
It did help to rant and then close the laptop and walk away for awhile. My daughter says I'm cranky too. I do tend to be a rather up front and blunt person.
Every time I think about smoking I remember how hard it was to make it through that first week. I do not want to go through that again!
I think tomorrow I am going to try my best to not even get on WA. It will be hard lol.
Thanks :)
You sure are creative...good success comes everywhere...manure and compost transforms with the right conditions...some of it even does under not so right conditions...
the head will think you to death...what are ways to get bad energy out of the head and still own problems...
The old garden trick haha all the manure from the head goes down into a beautiful garden at your feet, you and your problems so small down there, healing... as you can hardly see yourself acting out. Do you have a sun in you that is shinning down there...out of your healing third eye...haha it gets better. rest, eat healthy... and grab plenty energy from nature out there happy to share and care for you to find happy thoughts to replace the bad thoughts... what you put down there in the garden to enrich the soil. nature, the sun etc. transforms it...
All your creativity can come up with something for you..that's something I practice at times or all kinds of variations of it, or something different...
Want to check out my web site sometime, your problems got me moving forward again Angela

Hi Angela. You are an inspiration to me. You need to step back a little and take time for yourself. You deserve it. Bravo for stopping smoking!!
Have you tried EFT? Emotional Freedom Technique. Also called tapping. It works by tapping on the meridian points. The acupressure point. If you Google Brad Yates, he has hundreds of free Youtube videos showing you how to do it and it's for everything, for pain, stress etc. Check it out. It helps me a lot for pain management.
I don't know about being anyone's inspiration but thank you.
I haven't heard of that. I will definitely take a look.
Angela, you have made amazing progress here at WA. I am very impressed with what you've accomplished.
Believe this if you believe nothing else, every day without a cigarette is a good day.
But, not if you keep telling yourself that you miss them. You need to keep telling yourself, "I'm not giving up anything, I'm gaining something, My Health."
What we tell ourselves often enough becomes the truth.
I've had bilateral sciatica for over 40 years, and never took anything stronger than Aleve, and an ice pack. That and my daily stretching have kept me out of the chiropractors office for many, many years.
What is the cause of your back pain, maybe I can help?
You want more energy? Eat healthier and get some exercise (besides chasing kids).
I understand that WA has your mind full of 'things to do'. But, what is your routine to Unwind and Relax?
There are things you can do, there are things I can show you, on my website. I can Make it EZ4 You.
makeitez4me.com
Maybe you can help me make my website better. I think you can.
What do you think?
Small changes make a huge difference.
You're right. Whenever I think about smoking I remember how hard it was to quit. That first week was terrible. I do not want to go through that again!
Thanks for the compliments. I feel like I've been here forever lol.
My back pain is degenerative disc. The big problem at the moment is my hips and L3 through L5.
I know you're right about the exercise. I know it because I lived it. Probably I need to work on my mind to get back my motivation. I used to take the kids for walks every morning. I haven't done that in months.
I also decided to write a series of children's books. I finished the first now waiting for illustrations and then will have it up on amazon.
I really don't have anything to unwind and relax. When my daughter's not working she's either in class or doing homework. So I have the kids most of the time. Then throw in cooking and doing what cleaning I'm able to.
I keep saying I'm going to refresh my memory on your website. I will look at it before bed tonight and see what we can come up with.
Thanks. :)
What you can do is, deep breathing exercises, to unwind and relax. You can start with 10 seconds and build from there. Out with the bad air in with the good. Slowly and fully. Out through the mouth in through the nose.
Do you do any stretching to relieve the back pain?
If you do, what I would suggest is, stretch for 10 minutes, ice pack for 10 minutes, a couple of times a day. + Aleve.
The Nicotine, has been out of your system for 39 days. The only thing that's keeping you tied to them is what you're telling yourself. You're an Addict in mind only. You can be free forever any time you want. Just so you know, you may not be smoking, but you are far from free.
Do you want to be Free? If you do I'll PM you with the answer.
Don't worry about fixing my website, let's get you fixed first...okay?
Sometimes we've just got to step back from it all and be a neutral observer!
I've had a lot of back/neck problems from orthopedic injuries however have reduced the anti inflammatory pills enormously. They too come with their many side effects. My work is also high stress and really a young mans job.
I do meditation, stretching and have a technique where I tackle the trigger points by lying on a spike! Also early to bed at a consistent time helps.
Good luck and relax. (Especially the mind!)
Wow, a spike? You can imagine the image that comes to mind. lol
I used to go to bed earlier, between 9 and 10, but then I started waking up earlier. I figure 4 am is quite early enough thanks lol.
"Early to bed, early to rise"... as the saying goes. I call it a "spike". Actually a blunt piece of wood the shape of a chalk, sticking out of a plank. Any spiky blunt object will do, small stone etc. (BTW I still smoke however, but only 3 per week ,when the wife & I sit and have a drink in the weekend evenings:)
When you talk about not getting enough sleep, stopping smoking, working on two websites, taking care of grandkids, and dealing with back pain........... WHO wouldn't be overwhelmed. You're dealing with more than a lot of people and it's getting to you. I guess I'd have to say that you need to give yourself at least a few minutes each day that is just for you. Put the grandkids down for their nap and take time to do something for you, or do nothing at all!
I do have to say that you are very focused and yes, this too shall pass. Sometimes life gets out of control, but you will continue to succeed. Don't be so hard on yourself, Angela. You are an inspiration to me! :)
awww, come on, you're gonna bring a tear to my eye. :)
Oh did I mention I also decided to write a series of children's books. I just finished the first one. Just trying to find out how to get some free illustrations before putting up on amazon. :)
See, I do most of it to myself lol.
Thank you for the beautiful words.
I like that last one. And for the record, I always feel overwhelmed. Things that were working last night don't work today and vice versa. I have too many jobs to balance. I don't sleep enough either. So I hear you, my dear. But we WILL do this thing!

Nice pictures you have. I like the Bang Head one. Can I use it?
any time :)
