Hi, is it possible to ask my friends and family to click on my amazon affiliate link on my website when they wish to purchase something on Amazon, thus earning commissions for m
You can become an Amazon Prime member for $79 a year with a month free to start, with all the free shipping, special and bulk pricing you save money. An Amazon Mom gets three months free creating an auto delivery of 5 items or more each month. There are so many perks with regular and special (Prime and Mom) memberships, too many to list. I save more with Amazon than my Google Wallet. ^_~
Hi Alanwelch I am also a Amazon affiliate and no you can not buy through your own Amazon link. That is a sure way to loose your affiliate account. But you can buy any thing from the Amazon store but not thru your own site. They call it cheating the system. I hope that will help you out. I am sorry if I was rude. Take care :)
Karen, no not rude in the slightest. I just needed to get the low down on the legal side of Amazon affiliate. Now, I have been sufficiently furnished with plenty of information. Ciou, A
anything artificial is "gaming" the system, as far as your own behaviour is concerned....It they are products relevant to your site, then why not have your friends buy from your site/links...
If in doubt, don't...
The thing is about getting it wrong is that it is not like taking goods back to a store...and if they don't want to answer you, they don't have to...they can ignore you and you are pretty much powerless as they- Amazon, Google, any affiliate program in fact can take the final decision- don't hand them a stick to beat you with!

Good point, Andy and I can relate to your logic on this. I shall certainly take this advice on board...I do not want to risk annoying the big boys!
I say who's gonna know if it's a different computer on a different network doing the buying.
I'd think it would be fine for you to ask friends to buy through your website, especially if it was for products supported by your niche. I don't know how Amazon would tell the difference between your friends and others. For you yourself, that might be questionable, it's kind of like asking Amazon for an automatic discount on their product, and they might have you associated with your link as well.
Cheers, that is kind of what I was thinking, although I do not want to have to constrict the buying to products connected to my niche. Thanks for taking the time to comment

You wouldn't' want to buy for yourself, but others people using your site, no problem. After all aren't they just visitors to your site, same as everyone you don't know? I'd say as long as they are not using your computer,(eg IP) I can't see a problem.
