Should I have an accountant with this business right now, or should I wait 6 months? I just know tha
I have the opportunity to have an accountant at what is being called a discounted rate of $1500.00 + $30.00 monthly and then $800.00 every year after that, which includes filin
I will share what I am doing and maybe that will help you make up your mind with a decision that is best for you.
I have had self-employment businesses before and I got all the licenses, EIN, state taxes, everything that is legally needed to be self employed, including my business name and LLC.
I have decided not to do that yet for this online business until such time as I am truly getting sufficient traffic and actually earning income. The reason being is that with some of my prior businesses I did not really make any money, but because I registered my business with the state as a sole proprietor I had to pay for the LLC, I had to pay quarterly taxes to the state and at the beginning of the year I had to pay more money ($300) to the state for the pleasure of being an LLC. All this money I paid because I wanted to do things the right way and be legal.
Since I am not making any money and am still working on my website I don't plan on doing any of that right now because it's just money that I can't afford to waste. If I begin to make earnings this year I will make this business legal and will account on my taxes whatever I have made.
And, unless you are making some really big money, I am of the opinion that an accountant is not necessary because: as a sole proprietor you can combine your business and your personal tax return together when you file. Your tax consultant should be able to handle that for you. I usually do my own and have done a combine business and personal tax return by using Turbo Tax.
As a side bar: I live in Maryland (US) and we have some pretty heavy fees and taxes here. I would suggest before you decide you check with where you live to find out what the laws and requirements are for an online business first so you know for yourself just what you need to do; whether you do it all yourself or you get someone else to do it for you. Each state requirements/laws coud be a little different.
Hope this gave you some insight. I woud just suggest that you not put an outlay of funds out if you aren't yet making any real money.
I wouldn't think you should need an accountant untill you find that you can't keep up with all the business that you've generated.

I am trying to build my website but having trouble arranging things to look like I want them. is the
I want to use my own photo of my logo across the top of my website but there is already one included in the theme.
Once you login to your website...click on "Customize Your Site" blue link ...then click on logo....remove old one first....then upload new logo
This may be the theme you have chosen. I did leave you some instructions on how to change your theme on your profile page.
What is your theme? You should find the header option if you click on APPEREANCE and then CUSTOMIZE. If you tell me what is your theme or if you send me a link to your website I can tell you more precisely.
Click Appereance --> Customize --> Header Image -->Add new image then choose the image you want to upload and then don't forget to click save.
