How do I make A PUBLISHED PAGE OR POST invisible, e.g. as a draft, or change its visibility to private?
This is done via your page options to the right when you are in edit mode. you will see a list which contains status visabilty revisions etc, If you edit status which in your case should be published you can change this to draft and visibility to private.
Huh. I think we need some training on this since I couldn't any by doing a quick search. If you go in an edit your page or post the box on the right hand column that has the publish button has the options to change it to a draft and to make it private. Private means that logged in users can still see it. Draft means only people that can edit posts can see it. If you still can find it let me know and I'll supply more detailed directions.

How to have a contact me page without using a PLUGIN?
A very good question and as Joe has explained it can be a very simple process of just adding a contact page.
Wayne
Hi Violet, If all you want to have on the contact page is your info like name, telephone number, email address and what is a good time to contact you, you can just make up a new page with that info on it. I made a post up for a contact page and they can leave a message in the comment section at the bottom, here is what my contact page looks like on one of my sites.

Have a great day
Joe
Joe, yours is an 'excellent contact me page'. I will love something like that, my own is too simple.
Excellent template for a Contact page. Need to put one up myself, along with an imaginative 'Hire Me' page.
Thanks you've set a good example.

A current update on my omega theme changed my page layout. Page menu shifted from the top of website to left sidebar and my widgets moved to the footer. My page on the website
HI Violet, I don't know if I a little too late with my answer but your website looks fine. See attachment. :)
Hi Peter, thank you for your continued support. Yeah, I was able to get it sorted out following Marion Black help. BTW, it's nice to see if from your browser. Thanks.
Violet, I had recently saved this for myself. It does not directly answer your menu question but I believe you will get ideas on your menu from what I remember of this. Hi, Violet, this is why you should always have a child theme, or at least a custom css plugin if one isn't built into your theme's customization. If you make changes to the parent css, every time you update the theme you will lose the changes you have made and revert to the current stylesheet.
I'll take a look at the Omega theme if you wish, and see if I can help. BTW, the link you provided to your site isn't working: "Server Not Found", although the link on your profile is.
Hi Harrysastar2, thank you for the response. I will appreciate if you can look into it and let me know how I can rectify it, must admit, am not tech savvy. I experience quite some challenges, some I have no idea how to sort out, there still the fear that if I get too adventurous, I may mess the site...:) Kindly see what you can do for me.
Thank you.
Hi, Violet, did you make any changes to the css in a child theme and not the parent theme css? The reason I'm asking is, I brought up your website and this is what I'm seeing (Image 1).
Your page menus are still at the top, your sidebar and widgets are on the right, and your footer is as normal. If you made the changes in a child theme or custom css plugin, the appearance of your site will remain unaltered regardless of theme updates.
Hi Harry, thank you for getting back to me. I got information from MarionBlack and it has worked very well for me. Thank you for the support, it's very well appreciated! All the best.

Hi Violet,
Would you mind sending me screenshots...I will try my best to sort this out for you.
Otherwise...this should work:
Go to Appearance>menu>create new menu.
On the left panel of your screen you should see a list of the pages that are published. Check the pages you want to appear on the main menu and click add to menu.
Name the menu ie: "main"
Save the menu.
Look up and you will see Manage locations.
Select this option and in the primary location add the "main" menu, save changes.
P.S Thanks Gordon
Hi peter, thank you for the support...the pages have not still shown up at the top.....and on the site my the main sidebar is also empty, It was displayed on the right side of the page....I did not change anything based on the layout. All that was on the right side of my page is all down at the bottom of the page....DO YOU THINK IT IS THE THEME? I USE THE OMEGA....WHAT DO I DO NOW?
Am very frustrated, not knowing how to sort this out?
It must be an issue with a plugin you recently installed...don't worry Violet, I promise you we have all been in the same boat. We will sort it out.
My first advice is to remember which plugin you last installed and simply uninstall and delete all files related to it...WP will ask you if you would also like to delete related files...say Yes.
If that does not work, we can look into changing your theme to something much simpler and quicker to setup.
Try the above suggestion and let me know how it goes. We are here to help each other...don't worry yourself about this, it's also a learning curve.
Hi Bruce, not yet...have no idea whether it is the theme issue, because I have done all that I have directed by my colleagues in this community, but I still cannot see my pages...very frustrated!

Goto Menus
then check towards the bottom of the page IF any of the check boxes is checked. Depending on theme you should see some
Menu Location options, like top or main.
John
Hi Viosecrets,
I'm not sure if they are the same but with my theme, I have 2 menus the top menu is titled subjects the side ones are topics. Open up the customize window then open menus then open subjects to add. See it your issue is there. I hope that will help you.
Hi Gordon, where do I do the selection for the menu location? I regret am not techie savvy, you may have to hold me by the hand and let me look over your shoulder, where do I do this ? Thanks
Ok lets start at the beginning.
first of all you have to have any page you want to add to a menu in "published"! form.

I need To Add a PDF File To my Post Or Sidebar With An Image. How do I do it. Kindly give a step by step way on how to do it.
Thank you.
Hi Violet, all you have to do is to log into your blog and add it as "media", the same way you would add a video or an image. Then simply copy its link location from your media library and link to it from your post or sidebar.
Try the above and let me know how it goes.
I hope this helps.
Upload your pdf to your media library
select as you would to insert an image into post
copy the URL to word or note pad for later
Choose Image and insert to a new post in draft
set to center
click on image and add link
go to TEXT MODE
Copy the html code
Paste html code into a text widget in sidebar
The URL for pdf location is on the right side (in media library)
That should work
John
You are very welcome. Just make sure the file is less than 2 meg (i believe that's the limit)
John
The easiest way to to simply upload the pdf to your Media Library. and use Insert Media on the blog post.. then select your PDF file. and it will create something like in this example:
http://cabinwork.com/sample-pdf
that only gives a text link however..
if you want to do an image, then you will also need to upload the cover image for the PDF.
There is a lot of training on adding banners and images in sidebar. This cannot be explained in this answer. Search some of Leo's and Nathaniell's tutorials.
This should be similar. The main difference is that you upload your pdf into media library and use the link of so created file and use it in the process of adding link to the object in the sidebar. I did not try this so cannot be sure but it should work.
