Sharing Successful Thinking

Certain moments of learning "Online marketing" result in bringing clarity to the larger picture and with it an Ahh-ha realization (perhaps the culmination of many lessons and of some revisited)

It is in these, that we are best equipped to "pay it forward" and share with others our understanding.

This is one such opportunity in the form of a book summarization, ( this particular book written by a local author, Steve Eickman / President of Anchor Marketing, a brand building agency in The Midwest,

The Scoop

The story of Charlie could be anyone of us in a Corporate Present, whom, after decades of loyal service are found displaced by System or Innovation. And it is here, Charlie would find himself working as server in a small Ice Cream Shop called: "The Scoop".

A reticent, but capable worker; always on time and ever obeying the rules, Charlie was surrounded by younger, far less interested in a job, then its paycheck; willing to cut corners even with a mop bucket, sort of co-workers. But, Charlie, minded his business, tolerating everyone ,even it meant more work for himself, Charlie!

Unforeseen circumstances would force a hand however, for Charlie, and this, my friends is how he grows:

Named temporary manager, (through no fault of his own) Charlie is forced to come up with a plan to motivate these young individuals, as he knew that working tirelessly on his own,was not going to get the job done and he would eventually be carried out with "Next Days Trash".

Nervous, completely uncertain, Charlie may have not even made the first week, but for his wife, Andrea, ( HOORAY, ANDREA ) a bank manager who reveals a formula she uses to communicate and manage others...and lo' even Charlie, for the past 20 years.

T= target + A=action + M=message + M=media TAMM is a formula for succeeding in the world of communication.

T = By knowing who, and about, those we wish to COMMUNICATE to ( i.e. Age,interests etc.)

A = By knowing precisely the ACTION we want performed, ( i.e. subscribe to our website )

M = By creating A MESSAGE that best motivates our A, to our T ( i.e. Subscribe here>>>For A Wonderful World of ICE CREAM )....Yum!

M= By bringing out this MESSAGE using the correct MEDIA ( i.e. Where and what social platform does my "core audience" frequent...Did you know more people over the age of Fifty use the search engine BING? Neither did I...Ask WHY if you are interested, in Comments below)

CHARLIE WINS!...he wins the respect and loyal behavior of his team: he succeeds in bringing new revenue to the ailing store, and he, CHARLIE, with an added respect for his loving wife ANDREA, becomes the PERMANENT new manager of "THE SCOOP".

HOORAY...great read, Good impressions for Communication, and as always FOOD for thought. So now....WHAT'S YOUR SCOOP ?

Hi, David.

I would like to know why more people over the age of fifty use Bing. I too, was not aware of this and would love to learn of your perspective on why.

I have always been a die-hard user of Chrome.

Cheers.

Paul from Blue Jay Country.

You

Yes,by challenge and self concept currently! Thanks for noticing :_}

Excellent advice for Charlie and for us all...using Andrea's T.A.M.M. every time we write posts on our sites or blogs here will help remind us of the things we need to keep in mind as we write...plus, it's great advice for those stuck in Charlie's situation as well.

Wish I had known it years ago, when stuck in a sort of similar situation...anyways, somehow I made it through, and eventually realized as Charlie did, that one person can do only so much...there's got to be a better way, lol! Yay, for teamwork!

Great to know that most users over 50 use Bing, never really realized that...although I'd been wondering how many users actually do use Bing since it's set as the default search engine for Windows/Microsoft.

Many people that I know have no idea how to change it to something else or even how to switch to a different browser than Microsoft's "Edge" or "Internet Explorer" for that matter...they look at me like I'm crazy when I ask what browser or search engine they're using, lol.

Thanks for sharing such wise advice, David! Keep up the awesome job.

Best wishes :) ~Sherry

Sherry.
Thank you for the thoughtful comment. I am a big fan of responding in a way that shows I am taking in, what is being said...this is very kind.

Reminds me of charlie brown, lucy and the football.
Only this time the kick is good!
LOVE THIS POST!

Hahaha I remember watching Charlie Brown... great memories growing up...and I do think of this Charlie as a bit of a bumbling sort and yet...yep, he finally gets it.

Very appreciated, Lee

thank you for the inspiring quote.

i really like this post and had to "revisit."
great post.

Thanks for the return,Lee. I have revisited many of my favorite posts again because I enjoy the second-go-round even more...something always there to refresh my understanding.

Good things are in place for me today as I get to spend much more time on Sunday working on my training and site.

To our walking the same path and respecting Charlie...many best wishes for you.

David

thank you

well David I'm back. i really like your post about Charlie. Hmm .. Charlie sound like a good target audience:
baby boomers being displaced in the work force seeking a new source of income replacement.
Thanks for this inspiring post. must write this idea down for a future website before i forget,( may be getting older but definitely better) looking forward to reading more of your posts.

Thanks for sharing, reminds me of my first teaching job in an all white school, and the task of gaining the respect of the hostile classroom; I had an open session with the class where they were free to vent their hostility as long as I could do the same;, That is when the most hostile kid shouted -Sir you can't say things like that to us".That was the winning goal, the word- Sir. They turned out to be the most loving and beautiful class to teach.

Courtney, honestly you are full of experiences I am envious of...
real experience, the sort that adds to learning, an impression that
will not be undone...Man, I am very happy you are here.

Respectfully, David

this post is a tear jerker

To the journey we all share...Pleasant Sunday!

Thank you David for this inspiring post!
Great Formula TAMM! Great team, Charlie and Andrea.

Working hard and supporting eachother is the best ingredient for success and happiness.
:-)

Thank you Pernilla,

My thought exactly, when we are there for one and other in support; hearing what we are listening to...great things become of this.

Thank you for dropping by and please know this post may not have occurred at all, if I hadn't stumbled on your profile and post review...been encouraged. "Serendipity" by definition, a happy play of events that leads one to another.

Make a Lovely Day of it...Respectfully, David

Hello David!

Please, excuse me for not having liked your reply until now. Today I thought I must go through a couple of my thousands mails and delete them and so I discovered that I missed it. I don't know how I could miss the notification. There are so many that I don't manage to keep on track with all of them.

How's it going with your business? Hope it's growing and thriving. Mine is growing but not yet thriving. Well, I'm still working on it, won't give up.

:-) Pernilla

There you are...My thought is, "Where like minds draw together in a common interest there is infinite power.

You have at core, the perfect sensibility Pernilla, to move any endeavor in the direction that you "will" it to be!

1.) You have a strong presence of mind
2.) You possess the capacity for uncommon sense. (that which looks back or inward to improve upon what they envision)
3.) You align yourself with others that are positive and growing in their own effort.

Lol ***As A side, I had just thought about you yesterday wondering what you might have been doing and how you were...And Wha-la!

I am honored that we remain connected...Shine Brilliant, friend.

David R.

Thank you, David, for your outmost encouraging words!

You are Brilliant, David! Very talented on how to express yourself with great impact.

There is indeed a huge power within and around. Isn't it astonishing that thoughts can be sent through the ether thousands of miles and we can feel when someone is thinking of us?

Have not been very active in the community the last three months or so. But I'm still around out there in the internet space.

I've got so many things I want to accomplish. I'm taking part in a Facebook course here at my longitudes, and at the end of this month starts an education I will take part in to become a nutritional counseler. That will help me to build up my knowledge and credibility within my niche.

Me too honered to be connected with you!
:-)

Excellent to hear you being so focused, and as I thought you would be.

As you might gather I am turning my own efforts to understanding a different perspective of “momentum” in what is being created by others.

“That which lies within successful people’s habits

1.) gathering knowledge to empower
2.) forming habits to enable
3.) building perspective to endure.

Great also to hear of the nutritional counseling. Iam just now hearing about Consequences of Sodium Chloride use as well some political use-theories that are a bit unsettling.

Anyway. We shall keep in touch and so wonderful to hear from you

DAVID R

You've got an highly interesting project ongoing!

Yes, let's stay in touch!

:-) Pernilla

Will absolutely be watching you progr3ss*** Happy Learning !

I enjoyed reading your post.

As for Bing and the older demographic, it's also the default search engine that comes bundled with Microsoft. I am a firm Google fan but a lot of my friends use Bing. Mostly I have found they don't know how or can't be bothered to change the default. :)

~Mark :)

Thks mark. I'm gathering you are back from your cruise reviews. Welcome home, you and thank you for adding this about Bing. I think this knowing your audience is a sleeping giant for web design

Thanks David, yes trying to readjust to a non cruising life now. Not that easy I've found. Ha ha Agreed if your target audience is 50 yrs+ then it's very valuable to know and use to your advantage. :)

Thanks for sharing this inspiration! So Bing users are mostly over fifty? Or the trend is that more people over fifty are inclined to search Bing?

Well, apparently, a statistic held together by a theory that Bing was originally named MSN, (Microsoft Network), one of the original search engines and a favorite among older users.

And I believe your second assumption sounds more plausible.

However, Lol I am over 50 and never entertained using a computer, much...until Iphones and Google... and through WA only now glimpsing the complexity of algorithms/features/tools created for using and monitoring "Search Engines".

Happy that you have commented and enjoy.
