OK so a small quick lesson here but important.

So we have the plan all up and running. We are going to chat a little about evaluation.

There are 2 points here I would like to discuss that I have named minor and major reminders.

Minor reminder (mr) - There are times in a week when we are sent a little reminder that life is still out there. We cannot be so hell bent on goals that we forget life. Maybe our spouse wants us to do the garden instead of a diarised goal step. Maybe the kids need our attention. Maybe we scheduled something in error and double booked. These are minor reminders that we have obligations and that things do happen unexpectedly. I have worked out that we can have 1.5 mr's a week. How do I know this, I know it because 1 mr a week is fine but 2mr's a week seems to cramp the plan a little.

Major reminder (MR) - Hopefully you won't have too many of these guys. A Major reminder is a big slap across your head that life again is still out there. You lose your job, you file bankruptcy, you get very sick, a family member gets very sick. A major reminder that we are humans and mortal. We can deal with this in the plan but not once a week, hopefully never.

So you are now at your time in the week when you are working the plan.

(My time is on a sunday evening about 10 when I spend some time reviewing my week and setting up my next week, again baby steps toward my 1 yr goal)

I have a red pen and I am crossing off with delight each step I have accomplished this last week. Any mr's or MR is noted and any undone steps are moved to the following week.

I am looking at my last week and my 1 yr plan and figuring whats next, this may include making another immediate steps list off of Yr 1 but get next weeks steps in the diary.

Any mr's noted must reflect in the next week as a priority and these can be tagged in red or blue or however you wish.

This is where the small copper jotter' or small flip type pad is handy. Carry this with you or in your bag, this is for notes and ideas relating to goals on a daily basis. Set the sections in P O W E and R and list your Immediate goals in here, add notes as you think of ideas and ways to add to your goals, steps and plans.

Close out this last week and work on the next 7 days, then go to bed and hug the one you love. If you live on your own, reach around and pat your self on the back.

OK major congrats if you are here, you are on your way and no excuse to fail unless you stop, get bored or meet MR.

Tasks 0/3 completed
1. Begin to work your plan
2. Monitor daily
3. Feel the relief

Hi MikeyB-just confused myself. Ha. It is better to start with Skyhorse's goal course, then yours, correct? Thanks a lot.

Lol yeah. We both talked about it and mine goes into the mental aspect and more on obstacles and such with your goals, then his is the goal setting. Although mine does do goal setting as well. They are a tag team event.

Mikey, you have no idea lol. But both the theory and practical experience is important. You can't have one without the other.

@Jenna, well thank you. I try to be active!

Excellent in every respect, Mike! There's a saying: "If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there." Thanks for providing both a path and a guiding light.

WOW, what a powerful course. This is what I have been in need of for the last year or so.

I have been jumping around all over the place and not accomplishing a blasted thing. So, I am bowing up and getting things organized and my goals laid out with weekly plans so that I can progress.

THANK YOU for this valuable course. God Bless you richly. :-) Jerry Mc

What is an A4 notebook?
What is a "coppers jotter" (A7 notebook)?

In the US most people are used to sizes - - an 8.5 inch X 10.0 inch notebook is most common.
Smaller sizes/measurements are available.

You will need a notebook about the size of a regular sheet of paper. A lined common notebook. A copper jotter is the small flip type pad, this is your daily notetaker and pad that is with you for notes and ideas

How can we run them through s SMART test if you want them to be vague and not specific? They will fail because, "be fit and healthy in 10 years" isn't specific. Yes it is achievable, but no its not measureable, and only the person can say if it is realistic or not.

So how many do they need to pass for the SMART test then?

They can SMART test a vague goal absolutely. The goal at 10 years is vague by design as life changes and SMART testing at 10 is a futile exercise. If 'be fit and healthy in 10 years" is not specific at 10 this is ok as it becomes more specific at 5 and 1 and immediate. Getting goals down in a form that can be realised is a first step. I would not 'specifically' know the house I want in 10 but I know I want one. The S in SMART can also be Simple. The course is an exercise in getting these goals down on paper, this alone is major for most people.

Skyhorse, I have amended the 10yr goal SMART test with an addendum to specificity, thank you.

Ok, I forget that sometimes. I have studied goal setting for several years now and even have taught workshops about it. So sometimes I forget that others don't do what I do. Thanks!!!
