Hi and welcome to lesson 15. Creating music tracks for your movies using Garage Band.

Click here to view the whole course.

In this lesson I'll teach you how to create music tracks to use in your movies in such a way, you need not worry about Copyright issues.

You may very well know about Garage Band which is great, but in this course I'm coming from the view that you've never heard of the program so I'll lead you through how to make music.

If you're familiar with "Magic Garage Band" and how to use it, you may want to skip this lesson.

Garage Band is a fully featured Apple software program. It's a high end type software program that lets professional or novice musicians alike create awesome sound tracks. It's like having a complete music recording studio on your computer. A lot of Macintosh computers (depending on the age of your Mac) had this program bundled with the machine meaning you don't have to buy it.

Don't have it? Purchase Garage Band from the App store.

If your Mac doesn't already have Garage Band on it, you can buy the program for around $15 from the App store. I suggest you go through this lesson before you make a purchase so you're sure it's something you want to do. However for the low price you'll pay, you'll really get your money's worth.

There is only one part of the software I'm teaching you in this lesson. To go through the GB software is a completely different course which I may create in the future. There's way too much stuff on it to cover in this course. However, what I want to do in this lesson is draw your attention to the "Magic GarageBand" part of the software.

No music experience required!

Believe it or not, even if you have ZERO musical talent in your body, you can quickly create music tracks to use in your movies. Better still, because YOU create them, you don't have to worry about Copyright infringement. So kick back and relax while I teach you the easy and fast way to create music tracks which will compliment your movies and add exitement and brilliance to them.

No Copyright issues here.

I know I've mentioned it before and I'll continue to stress the point about being careful when using music in your movies to promote your business. Commercial music is covered by Copyright law which forbids you to use that music unless you pay a fee. GarageBand allows you to create music tracks which you own and can use whenever you want in your web videos. If you want to use music as backing tracks to your movies (and I suggest you do for effect) you need to watch this lesson and learn how to create music to use and feel safe in knowing you have no legal issues at all.

In this lesson you will learn how to...

  1. Find and open "Magic GarageBand"
  2. Choose a genre of music to base your track around. Available genres are... Blues, Rock, Jazz, Country, Reggae, Funk, Latin, Roots Rock and Slow Blues.
  3. Change the genre of music if you want to
  4. Choose the instruments you want to play in the pre-defined music track
  5. Open your completed music track in Garage Band
  6. Export (Share) your music track into iTunes as an MP3 music file
  7. Use your newly created music track in your movies
