Hi there! I'm Phil and I've decided to change my life and earn a living online. I've tried in the past, but with all the scams online after 5 years of searching, trying and failing, I'm going to give it another bash. Mainly because I came across this website which looks and feels great. Fingers crossed, this will help me achieve my goal of earning an income online and well into retirement.

I live in Adelaide South Australia, I'm 53 years of age and was laid off work in February 2012. I've a great deal of trouble finding a job. I guess it's mainly due to my age. So, that's why I'm so keen to establish an online business (or businesses) to support my family into the future.

I'm an electrician by trade and have had many jobs - many jobs! However, there's not one job I really enjoyed and consequently ended up (after various amounts of time) either being laid off, or quitting because of the way I was treated. Enough bad stuff...

I have been married to my beautiful wife (and my solid rock) for 30 years and we have a beautiful and wonderful 17 year old son and a very "studly" 12 year old dog called Sam. Sam is 84 in human years but god bless him, still wants to hump everything he can!

All my family that is Sue, Dan and Sam keep me focused on the important things in life. And god bless them, they all still give their old man a genuine love felt hug regularly.

So here's to moving forward and making all our lives in this wonderful WA community a success. I wish all members of WA prosperity, financial independence and a wonderful life doing what you love.

I look forward to chatting with you and helping you where I can on the inside!

Kind regards,

Phil.

Hello Phil,

Just ran across your training on ScreenFlow today. Great course by the way. I will be going back through it again only slower this time. As I wasn't looking especially for ScreenFlow but rather, whether or not I needed to compress a mov file created in Quicktime to an mp4. so it could be uploaded to Youtube.

But as I saw your mov file is more than twice the size mine are, so I'm thinking I don't need to do this.

I'll be checking into ScreenFlow as well. Anyway thanks and I've followed you.

Talk to you soon,
Markus

You've put some very interesting info up, so I'm going to follow to not miss anything in the future. Your white dog "Sam" looks almost like a carbon copy of our little dog named "Spencer". Spencer has always been a bit odd -- you call him and usually he runs in the opposite direction (unless you have food in your hand). He likes to spend lots of time under the bed (we call it his "bunker").. Anyway -- I hope to learn from you I am quite new, see you around I'm sure!

Hello Phil. Thanks for following me back. I just watched your Screenflow software video dated August 27th, which I think is one you were not able to show us at the time because of the ban. It was a great training. I will go and look at your other videos some time. I put a video on my own site but I used Camtasia, using their trial but I have an idea that the Screenflow might be easier to use and still looks quite as good. You may have converted me to Screenflow but I will have to watch the other videos first..
Cheers, Ian (another Aussie)

G'day, Phil - ready to punch the screen! It took half an hour to connect via wireless & dongle. 3 bars reception - but no connection. The help section kept suggesting I get a remote assist or go to Customer Service online...oh, really??? Who creates these programs???
With WP, I watch the videos, take notes, write pages (for one site only so far) then if I edit them, they disappear somewhere and I have to start again! Lucky I write them out first! So far, it's been a very time consuming and frustrating experience for an old codger. I follow the instructions as I understand them, but being as thick as two short planks... the WP "site" is not coming together! Aaaaargh! Feeling stupid! :( george

Hey Phil!

You're an electrician! That's cool!

I don't know if you've found a niche yet, but I'd like to suggest one: Electricity for the Terrified. Or Wiring for the Brainless. Something like that.

My dad can change a plug and do all kinds of useful wiring around the house, but neither I nor my husband know anything at all about it. It's really expensive to call in an electrician, and I really resent doing it for some silly job I know we should really be able to do ourselves (I like to be self-reliant.) So we live with dying light switches, and fixtures that need replacing.... all in a state of electrical entropy.

The problem is electricity is scary! And neither of us wants to die! I mean, it's not like plumbing. If we do the plumbing wrong, we get a leak, but no one dies. But If you wire something wrong then... it could be barbecue time for someone....

I would love a site with videos showing me how to do simple electrical repairs, taking all the proper safety precautions. Homesteaders would, I reckon, love it. And so would women who are fed up with their men not keeping up with home repairs. Not that I'm naming any names... They could finally stop nagging and just do the repair themselves.

You probably think I'm barmy sending you this niche suggestion. But you wouldn't if you saw the state of our wiring- ha ha!
Reply
Phil52 Premium
Hi Zaragozana and thanks for the comment and suggestion.

While I feel for you in your endeavors to make home repairs, this is a service that needs to be performed by a licensed electrician. I would never try to show or explain to someone how to do any electrical work due to the possibility of either electrical shock or fire should something go wrong. It's a specialized field and also one which changes from country to country. I live in Australia which has different voltages, frequencies and regulations to other countries around the world.

Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that you've tried to help me with a niche. But having witnessed situations in Australia where people have done their own wiring and had it cause fires, it's just something I would never recommend you do.

Your suggestion has however given me an idea which would help people all over the world save money on their power bills. I started writing an eBook a few years ago then put it aside due to other things going on my life. Perhaps I'll res-erect it and finish it then market it. You've rejuvenated my enthusiasm. Thankyou!

Phil.

I know... it's a bit like asking a cardiologist to post videos on DIY heart surgery! Never mind. It was worth a try.

I'm glad you're going to finish your e-book, though! I'd love to save money on my electricity bill.

I have made several suggestions about niches to people, all entirely based on advancing the cause of my own comfort and convenience! Sadly, no one's taken me up on my self-serving proposals!

Have you ever considered having a niche based around blocking robo calls to people's homes? .......
'For a small monthly fee, we guarantee no more calls from presidential/ senate/ congressional candidates, their PACs, Super PACs, lackeys or henchmen.'

Seriously! I would have paid quite a bit not to have had to field five to eight robocalls a day for three months in 2012 when Obama and Romney were running. People living in swing states would be prime candidates for this service, I'd say!!!

OK, I"m going to stop being goofy and go to bed! Good luck with your e-book!

I've been taken in the past myself, but I truly believe Wealthy Affiliate is the right place, at least for me. It is a safe place where most people here genuinely care about your success, and I mean the members like you and I, not just the owners.

So, work your way through your training. It will walk you through what you need to know to put together a winning site and niche. Try not to skip around if you can avoid it.

Follow the advice from those people who have been there and done it. The path is well laid out for us.

Most of all, if you get stumped on anything, don't be shy - just ask. Someone here knows the answer.

Wishing all the success possible for you.

Thank you for the follow, Phil! I am going to share something with you first, because I believe in the power of coincidences, before I make my first Blog post here....I am listening to this little band called 3 Doors Down, listening to a track called "It's the only one you've got" and the following lyrics played as I was reading through WA and saw the notification that you followed me...

"You hide behind your walls of 'Maybe Nevers', forgetting that there's something more, than just knowing better..."

You've GOT to live this life you're given, like it's the only one you've got. I've come close to some internet scams myself, and I see you have too. I am new so I can't speak about WA personally just yet, but I think us taking that leap and letting go of how we've been burnt in the past could turn out to be an amazing investment.

Landed on your website after reading your review on a scam. Not that I expect this to happen (but ten times burnt makes one very wary) If I join as a Premium member and for some reason I want to cancel my membership, do I get a refund or, can I cancel at any time?

Thanks.

Phil.

We don't offer refunds because of all the services you get within Premium, but I can assure you that you will love Premium and you have full control of your membership (as in you can cancel at anytime, I can even help you with this if you ever need a hand).

I understand your frustration within the industry in general, a lot of vultures out there. I can assure you that you are in a safe place now and absolutely everything you need is here to get your business up and running.

If you need a hand with anything going forward Phil, do let me know. I am here to help you out!
