This is a quick lesson showing you how to overcome a possible error you may encounter when you export your completed movie from ScreenFlow.
Now, don't panic! I have done the research and found the issue isn't with ScreenFlow and in fact the problem lays with Macintosh's "Time Machine" program and is easily resolved.
So what's the problem?
After completing Lesson 3 I tried to export the movie to my desktop as usual. It took about an hour because the movie is quite long (around 23 minutes in HD). The export process seemed to do everything as normal and after an hour had passed the progress bar showing the status of the export had reached the end. It was then that the message shown below popped up.
This made me cringe with fear as any error message does. Long story short, it turns out that the error occurred because Time Machine was trying to take a snap shot of my computer during the export and this conflicts with the export process in ScreenFlow.
The simple remedy is to turn Time Machine OFF and export the movie again. You MAY have to reboot your computer (I didn't) depending on the machine you have. If you watch the movie for this lesson, you'll learn how to locate Time Machine and turn it off temporarily so you can continue with your exporting of movies.
Please watch the movie and you'll see how to fix the problem.
Movie duration: Approx. 5 minutes

I hope this allays any fears you may have with this issue and as usual, if you have any questions about this lesson or any others, I'd be more than happy to help you.
Kind regards,
Phil.
