GetResponse - Using Pre-Defined Email Templates

Okay, GetResponse has fine-tuned email marketing and will help you look like a Pro!

On the left margin of the templates page, you'll notice a category list.

Now, you definitely wanna check those out, but for your Welcome email, you can optionally start with a simple Thank You email, tweak it as you wish and then begin the series with another template. Your choice.

Here is one of the Thank You email templates I might use:

I would then modify this to include my logo at the top, change the text will things that I will be presenting in the email series and mention how it will help them become better affiliate marketers, save them time and make more sales. I would also pop in an image linked to my primary website and perhaps another linked to my Wealthy Affiliate custom home page. As I mentioned, this is just one option.

Let's say you want to go ahead just use one single template for the Welcome email and the remainder of your email series.

Using the category list on the left, I'm going to search the Internet Marketing template category:

Using the first of the Internet Marketing templates, you'll notice some wee icons just below:

The one on the left that looks like an eyeball to me is your preview icon.

The three on the right are your color themes. You can click each one to see which appearance best suits your tastes. I suggest trying to match the colors of your website, if possible.

Okay, so after you have decided which template you like best, it's time to select it and begin modification.

Step 6. Select Your Autoresponder Template and Modify

Click on the template you have finally chosen

Okay, this will put you into the edit mode and where most of your work is done:

For some, this screen can be a wee bit scary. But, once you play around in it a bit, it's quite intuitive and mostly just drag-n-dropping components or simply replacing the elements already in the template.

You'll notice aMobile preview on the right. I find this helpful to see how your mobile users will see the emails. As you know, many of us are checking emails on our phones these days and this is important for mobile conversions. But, let's concentrate on the left side, the main email message itself.

Okay, from the top, if you hover over the image you'll notice some options. You will be provided the size of the image to help you when creating one for the template. You can leave that one in there OR replace it something you like or perhaps even your logo:

Additionally, you can change the background color, move this image block up or down or resize or simply delete it altogether (trash can icon). Just hover over each icon to see what it does.

Additionally, IF I click on the image, I'm provided with another cool tool to resize it AND add a link.

Good place for an affiliate link, right?

Scrolling down a bit. Modify the Heading, Subheading and any other aspect of the template you wish.

Also, you can drag and drop components from the right margin. Here I dragged the image block from the right and inserted it between two paragraphs:

Then, you can simply click the Choose image link in the middle of the new block to add in an image from your computer.

TIP: After you upload an image, many times it won't be the right vertical size. Here is how to modify the vertical. Import the image. Then, hover over that image block again. Click and hold the vertical image resize button and drag it up:

Also, on the right margin, there are several other block components you can add in. For example, I clicked the Social Sharing section and then dragged and dropped the social sharing icons to the bottom of the email. (Remember how I mentioned that these message ARE available online!)

You can drag and drop image blocks, text blocks, social icons, payment icons and Buttons!!

The most important portion of this is, of course, you text and delivering what you promised. I would go a set further and offer up some free bonus items once or twice in your upcoming emails. Over-Deliver!

Okay, so after modifying the template, here is what I came up with for this tutorial:

As you can see, I swapped out the top image and replaced it with my website logo.

I added in a Click Here Now button linked to my Weatlhy Affiliate custom home page. I added in my signature image and so me social sharing icons.

TIP:

Open your autoresponder welcome email in your favorite text editor. First, think about where you might insert images. Copy only the top portion of the text that you want to appear before the first image (not the header above, but let's say the stuff you want just before the Click Here Now button. Then, copy that into a text block. Insert an image block and upload your image. Then, put in another text block and modify. The takeaway here is to think vertically. Text block, Image Block, Text Block, Button block, Image block.

Step 7: SAVE your Template !!

Okay, before you do anything else, you just worked hard on your first and very important email template for your autoresponder. SAVE IT! - before doing anything else!

Click the Save As button (lower right) and Select Template

Note: This is also where you can save a draft, if you can't get this entire email template modified in one sitting.
