Choosing the Right Email Marketing Service is Important!

Before we hop into the 3 email marketing services I'm going to discuss, please understand one thing - all of them will mention the ability to import an email list from another service into theirs. While, technically, this is indeed possible, it very rarely works well. The new service will require you to prove where the imported email list came from. You may need to provide IP addresses of each subscriber and other proof. I've tried this and it wasn't pretty. So, if you're going to trial a service, be sure to feel it out well and trial another before you begin building a list that you can't move.

When I first began testing the waters of email marketing, I chose MailChimp for the mere fact that it was free to use. And, for a newsletter it's fantastic. But, here was the kicker, when I discovered the beauty of Autoresponders, MailChimp wanted an upgrade to implement their "Automation" tools. Not so cool. I also learned later one that if I wanted to connect to an already setup email series from a vendor that I was promoting products for, they didn't have it for MailChimp - they used AWeber and/or GetResponse.

Okay, so obviously this sequence of events let me to check out AWeber. It's a widely used email marketing platform with an outstanding interface and a solid affiliate program should you choose to promote it. But, take this with a grain of salt, because promoting email marketing as an affiliate can be tough. The competition is fierce.

Later down the road and for a few reasons I simply can no longer recall, I switched over to GetResponse. I have this one listed on my Tools or Resources page of my website as my preferred and yes, I promote them as an affiliate and gain a monthly income. If you're interested, please proceed to my primary website and check out my affiliate marketing resources and sign up from there.... I can then help you out.

Adding another per requests from other members, Mad Mimi. I just setup this one specifically for this training. Very cool and easy to use interface. The terminology is a wee bit different - they use the term Drip for an autoresponder email. So, you setup a drip for each email message in the series. Also, they are totally FREE for the first 100 email subscribers.

Future Pricing

Okay, I feel remiss in my duties as your colleague and friend to not warn you upfront about future pricing after the trial periods of each of these three email marketing services. I'm sure you're like me in that once you decide upon a service, learn how to use it effectively and gain some experience, you don't wanna switch. As a matter of fact, that's what each service is hoping for!

So, here's the breakdown on their trial setups and future pricing:

MailChimp

Okay, I feel the need to mention (again) that the MailChimp pricing model can be enticing because of the number of subscribers you can have before they charge you anything. But, again, the kicker is that you can't use the Automation tools without upgrading. So, choose carefully. It's perfect if you wish to send out ONLY Newsletters. But, not so much for Autoresponders. -- Unless someone knows something I don't. If so, please let me know so that I can make corrections to this training.

AWeber

WithAWeber, as you can see in the image above, they will only charge you $19 after their 30 day trial period. This is quite competitive pricing and I can tell you that their intuitive design is very slick! This is a rock-solid company, has been around for years and isn't going anywhere!

GetResponse

Okay, as I mentioned before, GetResponse is my favorite. They also have been around for years and their GUI is very intuitive. They also have a landing page feature that I'm quite fond of. Lastly, as you can see, their first level pricing (after 30 day trial) is a few bucks cheaper than AWeber. No, it's NOT free like MailChimp, but you get a full-blown autoresponder, newsletters and one premium landing page with their basic package.

Mad Mimi

Mad Mimi starts out FREE for the first 100 email subscribers and then goes to $10 for up to 500 subscribers and then seems to to up $2 in increments up to 5000. Then, you have to hop to Pro for up to 10,000 subscribers.

Okay, now you have the low-down on pricing and I hope I have provided some insight on these 4 major email marketing companies for you to make a more informed decision on where to begin building your email list.
