Before we get into the Membership part of your website , you need to know the difference between Pages and Posts.

Pages,like Contact Pages, Frequently Asked Question Pages etc., you can notadd a category to any Page.

Postsare used for article writing and you can add Categories to Posts.

Categoriesare very important for Membership Functionality on your site.

Part!! Setting Up the Membership Functionality on your Website.

First:Go to WP Dashboard

• Go to Plugins> Add New> search for Paid Membership Pro> Install Now > Activate This appears on your Dashboard as Memberships

• Go to Memberships> Pages Tab > Click top link> membership Level Tabs> Name your Level

• When you name the level, i.e. Gold- give it a description like “ this entitles you to full access to all content on this site” or however you choose to describe this membership privilege.

• Enter a Confirmation message, i.e. “thanks for joining our Gold Membership which entitles you to……..

• On Dashboard go to Membership Area again> Pages Tab, click the link at top and there you’ll see al the pages created so far.

• At Top find> Membership Level tab> Add new Level> there Name your Level i.e. Gold, Bronze whatever you decide. It should relate to the title of your website. Give your Level a description and Add Confirmation Message.” Thanks for joining…..”

• Go Down to Billing Details: It’s preferable to make your initial payment low and rebill on a weekly, monthly or yearly bases higher.

• It’s completely up to you how youwant to do this billing. If you want a recurring bill, tick that box, if there is no recurring bill, do not tick.

• Fill in all the data you decide upon.

• Billing Cycle Limit: set to “)”

• You can set a Trial billing Period if you want or do not tick there.

• Disable new Signups- keep unchecked

• Membership Expiration- keep unchecked

• Categories_ keep unchecked for now.

Categoriesare important when you create a Post that is restricted for membersonly.
