Lesson 7: Create Comprehensive Outlines for Each Post
When revisiting your old content and creating new posts, it's helpful to have a comprehensive outline for each piece. This can be included in your file management system or kept separately, depending on your preference.
Having an outline can ensure that your content is thorough and relevant, which is what Google is looking for in their updates. Your outline should cover all aspects of the topic you're discussing.
An outline allows you to easily refer back to it to see if you need to add more content or split up topics. You may use simple, drilled-down outlines or mind maps to visualize the development of your content.
Moreover, outlines help you quickly analyze a post to ensure it covers all necessary information and that everything is in its correct place. Additionally, creating different templates for various post types, such as informative or product review posts, can help you focus on the specific topics that need to be covered.
Within your blog post, particularly if it’s a long one, the outline may be reflected in headings. In this case, a table of contents at the start of the post, based on the headings, can be useful to both human visitors and to the search engines.
