Lesson 5: Correct All Outdated Information
It is possible that several of your blog posts may contain outdated information. This could lead to search engines like Google ranking your website poorly if they find a lot of outdated content. It is important to look out for various types of outdated content on your website.
One way to identify outdated content is to check for broken links. There are tools available online that can scan your domain and notify you whenever a link becomes inactive. This can help you either fix or remove the broken link entirely.
In addition, you should check whether any of the products you have recommended in your posts are outdated or unsafe. For instance, if you run a baby gear blog and you have a post promoting a baby bouncer that has been recalled due to infant deaths, it is important to replace your recommendation with something safer.
You may also find that resources you have recommended or mentioned are no longer viable. For example, if you work in online marketing and you are recommending people to go to a website like Squidoo, it may be giving outdated information because the website no longer exists.
Moreover, it is essential to look for outdated strategies or ideas that you may have recommended in your posts. If there are issues with ethics or if a trend has fizzled, make sure to update that information as well.
