Hi folks,
I have just started narrating poems, stories and e-books for my clients.
That part I can do, and even have the audio recording equipment to finesse it.
But to

Great question .. just starting on the audio book story .. any info like this is useful because I don't know what I am doing .. LOL.

Cheers, William.

Hi William! Maybe we can muddle through this together:)
BEST!

Yes although you are ahead of me at the moment .. I message you in a week or so it that is ok. Cheers.

Gee...In a day or so, you'll see my farewell to WA blog post...won't be here in a week. But you could slip me an email to keep in touch...I'll be inviting that on my last post;)
Not sure I can help much...I'm just scrambling for some freelance narration jobs - just snagged a couple. If you should ever need any future voice overs or narration...;)

BEST to you!

Here is a converter Terry. http://www.nch.com.au/switch/index.html

How is everything Terry?

Thanks as always, Mike:)
Just sent you a wee PM;)

Hi everyone!

Life has dictated that I sign up with Fiverr to try to sell my sell a couple of my skills.
I was thinking...with the GREAT amenities here at WA, I should

I'm curious to know why you'd use it to promote your Upworks or Fiverr accounts. If someone comes to your site, looking for service, why not just provide it and reap all the rewards. What's the point in giving Fivver or Upwork a piece of the cut.

On the other hand, you can become an affiliate of Fiverr. I'm not sure about Upworks, but Fiverr does have an affiliate network.

Thanks, Renee.
I agree with you...yet I would rather these sites see to it that I get paid, period.
I'm shy about collecting and making sure of that myself.
What you describe would be my ultimate goal though;)

That makes sense. Sometimes it's nice to have a third party buffer. One of my struggles is asking for money for services rendered. In fact, I don't always have the best practices. In the back of my mind, I tell myself I need to ask for payment prior to working on a project. However, when it's someone I know personally, even if it's more of an acquaintance relationship, I tend to wait until I'm finished with the project before asking. If nothing else, I really need to start asking for half up front, at least to protect myself for the work I do.

Anyway... I was just thinking aloud. Still... I see what you mean.

Not to my knowledge Terry. You probably are the first. Why are you wishing friends the best? Don't you dare leave my friend!

Ooooh...don't know if I want to be the pioneer on this one;)
Thanks, Mike - you're my good friend:)

Hi all!

Mike-Writes has a post about this, and a plugin called "Beacon".
Thanks Mike!:)

I just wonder if there are other folks who've tried this too...and if t

I've done it before. If yiu get stuck feel free to message me.

Thank you very kindly, Joy.
Will keep you in mind:)

:)

Terry, here is a self creation guide that gives insight.
http://www.shoutmeloud.com/apps-create-ebook.html

Wow...lots of info to fire me up here! Thanks, Mike:)

I found a good looking site at www.beacon.io (I think the extension is right)
It looks nice and simple and takes your blog and automatically turns it into an eBook and all you need to do is a quick tidy if the formatting.

Hey Tony - thanks for sharing this!
I hope I can use the same layouts, including my images...you know, to mostly keep the same 'look'.
I think Beacon might do this.

It's beacon.by. The io extension goes to a big financial analyst company.

Thank you for sharing this with everyone, Dirk:)
Following you now...

WOW Terry,

Just did a quick Google search for "Easiest way to turn my blog into an ebook" (minus the quotation marks, of course) and is there ever a long list of options. You might want to check a few of those posts out.

Just a thought...

Thank you, Trish - will do that:)

Apparently, Anthologize, a Wordpress plugin, will let you drag the images within your post over too:) That's a feature I sorely want!

Wordpress already lets you drag n' drop Terry. So, you might want to test that before adding a plugin for something you've already got.

Thank you Trish -
but I mean you can keep the 'look' in the new ebook you create.
Maybe I could just do screenshots of my posts, right from my website...hmmmm, wish I understood better - LOL

Learning should be fun.
Once you've mastered this, you can train us here at WA.

I don't know about a plugin, but for my eBook, I copy and pasted some related articles into a word document, added a bit more info and a few stock images, then I sent it off to fivver, and for about 10 bucks they made it look pretty smart :-)

Thanks John,
I think YOU'RE pretty smart;)
Good way to go!
For me, I'm an artist...my blog is no great shakes, design-wise, but I'd like to keep the look intact. Kind of as a future, personal memento:)

Hmmm, great idea!!!

Thanks, Randy!:)

Hi everyone,

I'm anxious to download Skype to get on there with some of our great WA friends and trainers:)
I have Windows 7, 64-bit system.
I did download the new

I happen to have that myself, but are we allowed to communicate with the WA community through skype? It might help our online business more if we could.

We cannot promote our services or products here in the WA community. We keep things feeling safe and unhassled for us all this way.
We are all students, and the some of the ones who can teach us something, generously do this with Skype;))
And aren't we grateful!!:)

Of course it would be great to exchange business ideas with like-minded members...that's your thinking?
Because yeah...hmmmm:) !

Btw Zoli,
Nice that you happen to have Skype yourself.
It would help me with my question here if you could let me know what version is working well for you, please;)

I don't think Skype has any particular version. I will take a look at it and let you know for sure. I have not used it in a while.

I have windows 7 64-bit and I have skyp.....no problem downloading.

Thank you Sandra:)...
My question is about Skype crashing when using it...downloading works.
Also I wonder which version of Skype is working for you, please?

Sorry I have no idea....it just says Skype

Sandra

I hope you get it worked out my friend. I got to warn you, I am a 2'3" troll-like creature with big blue eyes....all 5 of them. I have 2 big buck yellow teeth which are uneven and forces my bottom jaw open and I drool a lot.

HAHahahaa!!! That is a world-beater portrait of you and junior there, Chris:)
I don't see any droolin', but you do look like squeezin' the stuffin' outta little junior bear ... :( :))

*ulp* ... maybe Skype can wait...

Lol. I'm on oxygen Terry. You get me too da*n tickled I'll throw up piece of a lung.

...to add to the drooling? A true treat...just be sure to clean Junior off good, ok?
Just funnin' wth ya...I care, brother...:)

I know you do my friend. BTW. That is the avatar.

That is a WINNER!
Actually you know, I'm pleased and proud to have this pic larger, right here on my question page.
Thank you, Bro - a real keepsake:)

Pleasures all mine to know you, Terry. My name is, Nobody.

Still haven't seen the 5 eyes Chris lol. Xx

Lol, Cheryl. My little teddy has two and I have two and you can't see the other eye when I am standing up.

Thought you had two in the back of your head but not sure if I want to know where the 5th one is lol. Xx

...oh lordy(!)

Thank you, Chris
...and you are Nobody's fool;)

Lol

Thanks, Terry. I am looking forward to connecting.

Are you using Windows 7 Home, Windows 7 Premium, or Windows 7 Ultimate?

Thanks, Douglas - that would be Windows 7 Home:)

Do you have the option for the free Win10 upgrade?

Not going there...for various reasons, and my pc itself, it wouldn't take;)
Thanks...but I need the Skype version to match my WIN7.

Do you have Win7 Home Premium or Win7 Home Basic?

Thanks for really trying to get at it for me, man! I have WIN7 Home Premium:)

I have downloaded the version that Michael recommends. I haven't had any trouble with my Windows 10...

Thank you for corroborating Mike's good sense, Linda:)

Never had any problems with Skype. I suggest you look at your antivirus program and firewall. Perhaps another application is clashing with Skype.
Try the Skype troubleshooting.
Cheers Kev

Appreciated, Kev - thank you.
Dang...gotta get all technical now...lol

hahaha yeah, it's a pain wasting time on these tech issues. Cheers Kev

Hi Terry,

Have had no issues with Skype and I too am using Windows7. Trouble free version I'm running (recently updated to this) is shown in the image I attached below.

Trish

Ah...this is the one giving me trouble (some others I notice online too). Thank you most kindly though, Trish:)

Version 7.25.0.106 is what I'm running on my pc with the 64bit system and Windows 7. I very seldom have any problems with mine... very consistent and trouble free!

Will look into it - thanks for having my back, Randy:)

This version covers win 10 and previous versions including 7
