Breast Cancer Recovery and Back to Work
My breast cancer surgery went really well! My recovery is much easier than I thought it would be. I had good ROM (range of motion) quickly. I had figured I couldn’t use my arms for a couple of weeks, but I immediately could use both, although restricted.
Today makes it a week since surgery. I was able to pick mint from my garden – yea! Mint is the only thing left to harvest, though. Garden pests have eaten my whole raised bed of bush green beans and my four tomato plants. My poor garden (:
I was going to put a mesh cover over them, but it has been raining here a ton for the past few weeks. There is so much standing water! I ran out of time to do anything meaningful for the beans. I’ll pull it all out soon to start the winter greens and cabbages.
Garden beans in the raised bed on the right that show very few leaves left.
They even got to my tomato plants in the pots. Bummer.
In the top left corner is one of the four pots of mint.
I’m so glad to be able to work on my websites so much sooner than I thought. All of the new changes WA has made are so cool; I’m anxious to try everything. I’ll be back to watching our Friday webinars and others. Watching the training and classes is perfect for us who can’t use our arms much yet, lol.
Has anyone else had a recent surgery or illness you recovered from? How has it affected your work? Do you have any tips for another recent surgery recovery patient?

Welcome back Teri.
I am happy that your garden is not a total collapse.
Green beans and tomatoes in the rain yah they don`t have much of a chance except if you give them cover. Mint that one I like, its tough. Now that you are back, make the garden green again.
Wish you the best with your websites.
It is nice to learn that you went through successful surgery and you are recovering faster. I thank God for that, and wish you the best of health in the coming days.
Sorry for your garden. As one also passionate about gardening, I imagine what it feels to loose your plants. Nevertheless, the worst is gone, and with no worries about cancer, you will restore your garden and have double harvets.
May the God Lord continue to restore fully your health and once aain become more productive. Have a great day.
Joseph
Thank you for your kind words and concern for my garden, Joseph!
It's nice to hear from a fellow gardener :)

I am passionate about it. I can imagine what went into your mind as you observed your plants! But now that your health is near to perfect, enjoy your garden.

Hi Terri,
Nice to hear from you with the good news of the results from your surgery. My Girlfriend in DR has just finished he last chemo treatment, and it has been very tough for her.
My last surgery was in 2020 on 7 levels of my lower back, and after my 2012 experience of 2.5 months and having to learn to walk again I was expecting the worst. The surgeon came to see me the following day and told me to get up and walk, I was nervous but I did and I was amazed. I felt great.
He explained how much the surgery techniques had changed in just those few years. I was told to take it easy for 10 days and then resume light duties.
Sounds like it won't be long for you either.
Kindly Rob
So great to hear, Rob! I love good recovery stories :)
I've been putting off back surgery since 2013. I keep having other necessary surgeries that I have to do.
Your experience gives me hope!
Thanks,
Tei

God bless you :-)

Thanks, Brenda!
I'm so glad this is an inspiration. I've always had a positive outlook. It helps :)
My doctor said when he saw me in the recovery room, all happy and talking, that I would do well. That was cool.😎
Blessings,
Teri

Teri,
I am so glad to hear that your recovery is happening quicker than you expected. I had heard a friend say she had terrible range of motion after her surgery. Years later, she still didn't have much movement without pain. Just like everybody is different, I guess every body is, as well.
I appreciate you! Such a strong person!
Karin
Thanks, Karin!
I appreciate you, to :)
