Hi All,

I would like to know if I have to manually send my subscribers notification of new posts or if they automatically receive a notification of new posts on my websi

You have FANTASTIC responses here; kindly let us know if you require additional assistance.

There are a couple of ways to do this. You can use the automatic RSS email feed built into WordPress. It sends out updates whenever you publish a new blog post. You can set this up, and it will send automatic emails to your subscribers.

Or, if your subscribers opt-in for push notifications through their devices, you can send new post notifications that way.

Noptin is a reliable plugin that used to offer auto new post notifications. While I haven’t checked into it recently, it was a popular and affordable option. It could still be an option that fits your needs.

I hope this helps.

Nancy

Many thanks for your help Nancy. I really appreciate your help and support. Have a lovely day.
Best wishes,
Brenda

How did you acquire your subscribers? Are they maintained in an autoresponder database?

Hi phil1944, many thanks for your prompt response. I was notified by WordPress of their subscription. No I don't have an autoresponder database. Is that available as a plugin?

Notified by WordPress? How? Email, message on your website or what? That sounds a bit strange. Can you attach a screenshot?

Autoresponders are available as paid apps, not plugins but to use one, you have to create a form on your website to collect visitors' names and email addresses and give them a reason to fill them in, typically a lead magnet that you give away in exchange.

So it's not trivial.

I use a different one, but the most popular autoresponder is probably AWeber. A search will find a lot of information about it.

My mistake. I have checked the email and it is from AWeber, not WordPress

Aha.

And to answer your original question, no they won't automatically get your blog posts.

Many thanks phil 1944

I have been kindly advised by some of our members who gave me feedback on my site, that the 'about me' and 'privacy' menu are better placed in the footer menu than the header.

You need to create both a header and a footer menu. Then you can move posts and pages freely from one to the other. Or have (some of) them on both. Here's some training: and Personally, I include anything my visitors might be interested in the header menu (including About Me) and legal stuff that no one reads (including Privacy Policy and Affiliate Disclosure) in the footer menu.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply and provide these training links. I will check them out.

Best wishes,
Brenda :-)

I'm sure you'll get to where you want to be, Brenda.

I left the affiliate disclosure on my header... and moved about me and privacy policy to the footer, following the training catering linked.

Many thanks for your response @DIGGER12.

Best wishes,
Brenda :-)

Hey Brenda,

Wow, now that is surprising to hear that members are recommending that you move your About page to the footer... though I totally agree that the Privacy page is best offered in the footer.

Once you've added the pages you want to the footer following the tutorial that Catherine offered you, don't forget to go back to your main or top menu and DELETE pages from THAT menu that you no longer want to appear in the top menu of your website.

See screen print below...

Hope you find this helpful.

Many thanks for your help and reply Triblu.

Best wishes,
Brenda :-)

Is a great resource. I create a menu called legalities and put all my disclaimers in the footer. However your about me page is crucial and I would never move that. it should be in my opinion the first thing after home in the main menu

Many thanks for your reply and support TheCatherine. Much appreciated. Thanks for the video link, I will watch it.
Best wishes,
Brenda :-)
