About Teddae

I have been a sales & business development professional most of my career when not pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors. Again I am combining the two. My "day job" (part-time) is a part owner of a couple start-ups in the mobile marketing dat space. These are both a network of networks in the digital advertising sense. So that make s me an advertiser as well.

After an unsuccessful foray into affiliate marketing in '05-'06, I returned to corporate sales/biz dev,, and began investing in start-ups in Southern California where I live while slogging away under the weight of corporate politics and personal agendas. Now that I have gleaned experience as an advertiser, I want to develop as a publisher.

My experience after a year at WA my experience is mixed. I love WA, but I can't find a developer who knows enough to help me. Always looking as most people who call themselves developers know little more than I do... they are total liars and scammers.

Nevertheless, I am 100% committed to making this my sole source of active income production and daily work going forward, and I am committing the majority my time to my website.... looking for a decent developer.

From the start, I have written training for every issue I had problems with myself. I also made a list of 1001 niche ideas, a checklist with 25 points to go through before you publish a post, 101 blogging ideas when you get stuck and an A-Z WA dictionary. I just love lists:) It has been very helpful to a lot of people. I have listed them in one blog you can find on my profile. It's the first website link on the right (click on my picture to get there). I hope to help you with those.

If you have any questions, please add a comment to this message or leave them on my profile.

P.S. If you get a chance check out how the training helped me to build my websites. My latest one on how to boost your retirement income just went live a month ago and the one on sleep apnea has been up for almost four months now. You can find the links on my profile page. Any feedback or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Ian, so back to basics, I need help with my WP theme. I can't see any menu items showing my two pages "About Me" and Privacy Policy" in either the WP site builder nor ingognito visit to the site. Also the look and feel looks nothing like the template and is in B&W.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

Niche is CBD and all that goes with it. Domain is http://CannabisAnimus.com I'm passionate about the subject and history of Cannabis as it relates medical uses, history of uses, current research results, etc. I want to be an evangelist (but I've never done that in publishing) and of course I want to become an expert along the way..... I have an idea for long tails that I still have to prove out, but if I'm not mistaken from the training, we start going after the less competitive keywords/phrases and move on to others with more traffic after P1 rank is achieved on these less trafficked targets. But I still don't understand how to go from there (the first few) in order to pursue ranking with more and more trafficked words. Do I have to start another site if it's in the same niche? And does that mean that the type of theme chosen is critical to achieving more ranking with other words/phrases? Do I want a blog scrolling on the Home page or on a Menu tab?

My understanding is that each "page" gets ranked for SERPs, so a blog page would be limited to SEO for your main 2 or 3 keywords?? I'm thinking I would want a theme structure that clearly defines keywords per page for SEO. Take http://leafscience.com or http://livescience.com for instance. I'm thinking of adding a Recommended Products page where I can sell multiple products in the future... or won't that work with CPA ads? Or take endoca.com... Am I linking to ads, shopping cart or banner(s)? I'm not quite there with the big picture yet. Maybe you can help. Thanks.

Hey Ted! Part of the problem here is that you're planning MANY steps ahead, which is great, but also can lead to a lot of confusion. All of your ideas/understanding here are spot on, though. You don't need to launch a new site to start ranking for new keywords - you just create new content on the existing site and leverage its existing authority (that initial authority is what leads to rankings in the first place) to rank for more and more keywords in time. That initial momentum is the hardest thing to build - but ranking gets easier and easier as time goes on and your site continues building authority.

You are right Ian, I figured it out... I needed to check the box "Primary Page". But the real problem is that I got ahead of myself. I notice it looks like it's discussed on Course 2 Class 2, but I need to finish my keyword identification, so I'll save my next question for that!

Thanks for sticking with me! Tu es El Jeffe!! :)

Hey Ted, how's everything coming along now that you've been a member for a few days? I hope you've found your way into the "Get Started Here" training toward the top of the menu on the left and that you're enjoying yourself so far!

Some people gravitate towards the "Affiliate Bootcamp" training which is something I don't recommend right off of the bat if you've never made money in internet marketing before. I have a detailed blog post covering this topic if it's something you're wrestling with and you'd like me to send you the link.

I know that may be a bit confusing, but if you have any questions at all don't hesitate to ask! I hope you're enjoying your time here so far :)

Great feedback Pribs. I was wondering about the bootcamp, so that's one thing less I have to think about! Good.

I've recently been through some newbie training with a guy named Cam McPherson, as well as Home Cashflow Club. I am now going thru WA's free training because it looks worthwhile. In the meantime, Kyle emailed me this AM and offered to help me with my first website. Kool! I'm in for that!

Hmm, never heard of Cam, but I'm glad you found your way here! Everything here is pretty straightforward overall. Best of luck - just shout if you get stuck anywhere.

It looks like you're moving along very nicely, Ted! I see you have your profile all setup and hopefully you've been engaging with the community a bit!

I keep a pretty good pulse of my referrals here, especially the ones that are working hard to help themselves (and so do the co-founders of Wealthy Affiliate, Kyle and Carson), so if you're willing to work hard here, I'm happy to help support you every way that I can!

Let me know if there's anything I can help you with.

Mighty kind of you! To be completely up-front, I may be guilty of analysis by paralysis in the sense that I'm not just diving in and building a site. I'm reviewing different training sources which as you know is less than exciting. And yes, I do have a list of questions (an actual list) that is quite long. So yes, I can use all the help I can get.

One of my first questions is.... Is it reasonable to assume that paying for a keyword/page analytic tool like SEMrush is a basic as a gun for a cop... a necessary tool? I'm looking for straight up answers, not answers that are influenced by marketing relationships. So far, I haven't found anyone fitting that description.

It really depends on what you're doing in your business. I have several tools that I use at least several times a month in my business, but SEMRush is not one of them (although there have been times I wished I had it, as it was much more straightforward for analyzing data I was looking for than my current subscriptions to other, similar services).

Long story short: probably not. At least not in the beginning. A keyword tool like Longtail Pro? Yeah, probably pretty essential before you begin producing content. But frankly, I wouldn't say SEMRush is a necessary tool for someone just setting out on this journey. Most definitely not as essential as a gun is to a cop, to address the analogy directly.

When I can get some time with Kyle, I'll ask more about Longtail Pro. Thanks mucho!!

Hey Ted! I wanted to start you off with a quick note that could SIGNIFICANTLY impact your success with Wealthy Affiliate. Read this entire message if you are serious about being successful in internet marketing (it's lengthy, but I'm not joking when I say that this advice could make or break your entire internet marketing career):

1) You'll need to work consistently and hard. There's going to be a lot to learn in the beginning and you may feel overwhelmed at a point, but keep pressing forward and you'll make it through. It happened to me and every other successful internet marketer at some point, and the only way to become successful in this industry is to push past that overload whenever you get there.

Do yourself a favor and commit to a number of hours that you can work each week right now. It doesn't have to be massive, but it should be more than 10 between evenings and weekends at least. Just remember the more you work each week, the faster you'll learn and draw closer to success.

After you've picked the number of hours you can work each week, commit to working that much for AT LEAST six months - a year would be better. You won't see results immediately in this industry, and being consistent is the key. Pick a number of hours you can work each week, then work those hours for at least six months. It's something you've probably never done in this industry, and this advice alone will make a HUGE difference in your chances at succeeding with internet marketing as long as you take it seriously and STICK WITH IT.

2) I recommend starting off with this training (which you can access with your free account): It just scratches the surface of the MASSIVE amount of helpful content in WA, but you'll get a good "feel" for the teaching style here and begin to see the power of all of the great things they're teaching here at Wealthy Affiliate.

3) DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE COMMUNITY. Two of the best places you can go to for help when you get stuck are the "Live Chat" and the "Classrooms" sections located on the panel to your left. You'll find direction and inspiration through the community here, which is one of the reasons I recommend WA so highly.

4) Finally, you don't ever have to upgrade to the premium account here at Wealthy Affiliate if you don't want to. You'll have limited access using your free account for as long as you wish. HOWEVER, if you're serious about internet and affiliate marketing then you should invest in the premium membership for AT LEAST one month. You could look back on it years from now and see it as a pivotal moment in your internet marketing career, but you never will if you don't at least give it a try.

Check it out for a few days though - you don't need to upgrade right now. Make sure it's a good fit for you, and if you upgrade within the first 7 days you'll receive your first month's membership at more than 50% off. I keep my membership active and recurring every month so I can be here for the people I refer like you, so realize that I'm putting my money where my mouth is here!

On top of that, if you upgrade to a premium membership at the discounted rate within the first 7 days I have a special bonus EXCLUSIVE to people that join WA through me and upgrade within the first week of creating their free account. This bonus will show you how to be twice as successful with WA or any other legitimate internet marketing program out there and gives you some very valuable video lessons (which I recorded for you personally, of course) to ensure you get off to the right step in your internet marketing business.

I keep a close watch on the list of people that upgrade from starter to premium, so I'll send the bonus your way within 24 hours. If you upgrade and don't receive it within that time frame for some reason, just post on my WA profile and let me know!

I don't offer that bonus so you'll spring for the membership and make me more money, I offer the bonus just in case you needed that tiny "push" to make sure you invest in this training because I know that you will use for the rest of your IM career and it could change your life. I've referred hundreds of people now and I have NEVER had anyone tell me they were dissatisfied.

Best of luck to you! You're about to embark on a journey that could change your life forever, so make sure you take it seriously, put in the time and effort, and expect great things in return!

You know where to find me,
Ian Pribyl

P.S. I know I've thrown A LOT of information your way in this message, but I wanted to give you one last thing. Here is a video tour of the members' area to help ensure you get the most out of your free membership as possible: http://youtu.be/NDmMcMtMB8c

Sorry for sending so much your way at once, I just want to set you up for success as much as I possibly can!
