Spam spam spam and more spam - why dont the filters work wa?
HEY GUYS,
JUST REALLY WANT TO KNOW IF ANYONE IS HAVING ANY ISSUES WITH THE AMOUNT OF SPAM EMAILS IN THE EMAIL ACCOUNTS HELD HERE AT WA ATTACHED TO OUR WEBSITES.
I HAVE HAD OVER 650 EMAILS IN MY IN BOXES AND ALL OF THEM ARE SHITE AND IN MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS. I HAVE CONTACTED SUPPORT AND THEY WANTED TO KNOW IF I HAD IT ACCROSS MULTIPLE EMAIL ACCOUNTS AND I SAID YES......
I THEN ASKED IF THEY COULD TELL ME WHAT TO DO TO STOP THIS OR IF THEY COULD FIX IT ....
THAT WAS 2 DAYS AGO.....3 DAYS AFTER MIDNIGHT...AND THEY HAVE NOT COME BACK TO ME......SENT YET ANOTHER EMAIL TO SUPPORT ON THIS MATTER JUST NOW
ANYWAY, SHALL I PUT A SEPARATE SPAM FILTER ON MY WEBSITE? IF SO, WHICH ONE?
AND BEFORE YOU ALL SAY "WE DONT NEED ONE", I KNOW WE ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE SPAM FILTERS SUPPLIED BY WA....BUT...................I NEED ONE ...WA ONE OBVIOUSLY IS NOT WORKING.....
HOPE THERE IS SOMETHING I CAN DO :-)

You can hook up your email address to Thunderbird (free) and teach Thunderbird what you consider spam and it will help take care of it for you. Domain Specific WA Site Email Using Thunderbird free

Please note that We do not have yet installed any spam Filter on the server and there is no such option available using which you can configure it at your end.
MAYBE WE SHOULD LET THEM KNOW ABOUT THUNDERBIRD, WHAT DO YOU THINK ? XOXOX

The spam filters supplied by WA pertain to our website comments, not email. Unfortunately I get over 100 per day and all I do is just delete them all.

Why do you delete them before filtering them out?
I only get like 20-30 at a time. But if you are getting thousands, then I can understand.

Just be careful where you use your emails.
I use WA emails restrictly to business & email marketing
Whenever I want to try new services or trials I use a dummy gmail account

My WA email account is forwarded to my private Gmail account.
I don't get any but my website is only 8 months old.

I HAD MY EMAIL DIVERTED TO MY GMAIL BUT I WAS NOT GETTING ALL MY MAIL......LOADS OF MAIL FROM AMAZON ETC WAS NOT GETTING THROUGH TO MY ACCOUNT SO I DELETED IT AND HAVE LEFT IT AS ATMAIL...WHICH IS ANOYING TO SAY THE LEAST XOXOX
OMG, I would get rid of it all and start from scratch!
Using your original business email of course. I hope this doesn't happen to me!
