I do believe these are legitimate question and one we all should step back and ponder. Why did you join Wealthy Affiliate? What were your expectations?

I personally joined, almost three years ago, to LEARN first, NETWORK with like minded people, then to EARN! Is this not what Wealthy Affiliate is all about?

Let's us all keep in mind that people who join, join with different levels of learning capabilities. I for one, am not, and have never been, very good at "text book" type learning. I learn best from taking action and from the example of my piers.

Upon joining, I upgraded my membership to Premium within days, not only to access even more great knowledge then what is offered in the Free Membership, but because of the members within.

Let us keep in mind, what is important or relevant to some, may not be important or relevant to others. You never know how you can positively impact someone's life whether it be on a personal level or professional level.

Let us keep in mind that there are two very knowledgeable, supportive, and dedicated gentleman, who has the final say in how they run their business.

Let us keep in mind that a title is just that, a title, and some may acquire that unjustifiably. It is what it is, and you will find that in any business whether online or off.

Choose wisely, who to follow, who to claim as your mentors, and who to trust.

Focus on why YOU joined Wealthy Affiliate, and let the rest slide of your back! Let nothing stand in your way of what you have come here to accomplish!

With that being said, follow the guidelines that are set before you by the owner of this business. Yes, Wealthy Affiliate is a business. Focus on the why, and leave the drama behind you.

I joined because I like learning new things and to be able to build a website from scratch fit that bill. I 'm also retired and wanted to have some extra income.

Being social was an added benefit, the WA community is awesome and if you have a question you get answers. The openness of this community is astounding to me I have followers from all over the world and I am following them, what an opportunity to be part of a community that gets along without any drama.

My husband found WA and told me about it, the best decision I made by becoming a Premium. I was totally ignorant about how to build a website, or about affiliate marketing. I have learned so much in the short period since I joined WA.

Camber

That is so awesome Camber. I began at Wealthy Affiliate much the same way. Totally ignorant!

I have been here almost three years now and it still blows my mind the amount of training that is provided and the opportunities that it provides.

Premium Membership is definatly the way to go if you are serious about learning, hosting, purchasing a domain, and appreciate the support.

I wish you well, and much success in your journey Camber.

Thank you and wishing you much success in your journey.

i liked the name

Well said..the strange thing is I am not naturally a social person just for the sake of being social. On Facebook, I am active and social mainly with others who care about and rescue animals. I do not have any interest in posting like some people do, about my day to life.
So what is really interesting is that I interact here at WA a lot more than I ever thought I would because I am here, again, with like-minded people. I have the goal of having a successful online business, and so does everyone else here, so that makes it seem natural to be social here and interact.
I guess the bottom line is, even people who are not social by nature become social among those who share common interests and common goals. And from knowing child development, which also spans to our adulthood, the reason we do that is because
we feel safe in doing so. We know we will not be judged here or feel like an outcast.

Hi Linda, Thanks for sharing a personal side of yourself. I agree that sharing your life story to everyone is not for everyone. Some times while in social media, I am almost embarrassed for some people and think, geeze, I really do not need know that! LOL.

It is much easier for me as well, to interact and get to know people here than any other place.

Feeling safe and comfortable growing my business as well as my network of friends and mentors is certainly one of the things I love about this platform as well. I sincerely hope that that does not change any time soon if ever.

Great post!! I had retired and was looking to start a new business venture, without having to go to the office. So I guess it is about learning something new, networking with like minded people and if I make some extra money....great. Robert

Hey Robert, I love the positive attitude my friend. And I do hope that Wealthy Affiliate can be that vehicle to help you fulfill that ambition of yours - I just read your profile :).

I joined to learn how to get financial freedom. I'm tired of working.

I hear that Roger. Working isn't so bad though if it something you enjoy doing and have a pleasant environment to do it in :)

I came here to learn all about making websites and which special effects you can incorporate.

I didn't have the faintest idea what affiliate marketing was, and that you could monetize a website. That has not my priority, although it is a nice side effect.

My Dutch website "kleurboekjes voor het leven" (Coloring life) is a non-profit website and has my priority for blogging about any abuse on every level. From politics- to animal abuse and from cyber- to environmental abuse.

Besides that, I started several other websites to practice website development.

Everything I learn about website development I share on WA

That is awesome Loes and sounds quite similar to the way I began.

Your helping and sharing has been amazing and I always enjoy learning new things from you.

Thanks Suzette, nice to hear that:)

Your welcome my friend!

Hey Suzette... I see you've moved up the ranks from 220 something to 197 now. Cool! Happy for you!

Thank you my friend. My rant the other day about be invisible wasn't so much about my raising to popularity here within the community as it may have seemed. That really hasn't ever been a priority to me. To be honest, large crowds freak me out LOL.

I am still not fond of the ranking, I have a feeling there may be changes in the future , but I may be wrong.

I have always used that number to gage how helpful I have been to others and after making much effort only to see my ranking rise, it was a bit disheartening.

But all is good. Through this, I have meet some special people, regained a bit of confidence, and I am beginning to feel like me again.

I absolutely agree with you Suzette. I hope your post is read by those who need it most. My feelings are similar to yours. I do find it frustrating that every so often disharmony comes to the fore. I usually don't notice it until it is well spread, and then I find it disruptive.

I came here with a writing perspective and the desire to make a difference Suzette. Monetization can come but there's no rush for me!

A man of integrity. Making a difference as the main priority, all else will fall into place!

Good things to remember Suzette!! :)

Thank you my friend!

My pleasure...Darlin! :)
