OK, the WA Keyword Tool doesn't like punctuation (it says my search has invalid characters), but Google does like punctuation, and if fact yields different results if I use just

Use punctuation within the content that you actually create (you want it to be grammatically correct), however I when you are doing keyword research you don't use punctuation like apostrophes, dashes, etc.

The keyword tool at WA is 100% accurate and we pull data from all of the top search engines.

Thanks Kyle. So simply type in the keyword using no punctuation and I'll be fine, correct? That works for me. thanks again.
Oh, one other thing, sometimes my Google searches simply reports results and doesn't list page# in the results. I know you said to ignore the page#, but I am curious as to why this is. Any idea?

You won't see a page number for Page 1. It only show from Page 2 onward. Underneath the long Gooooogle banner, click on any page number and you will see that number at the top.

Is that what you are asking about? ~Jude

Test several different keyword tools and the results will all differ.

One variance is caused by the fact that the WA Keyword (Jaaxy too) show searches from several search engines, not just Google.

Google's results are based on "monthly" search stats.

WA Keyword (and Jaaxy) are updated more regularly.

I gather that similar frustrations to yours about the limitations of the Google keyword tool and other keyword tools they tried is what led Kyle and Carson to develop the WA Keyword tool, then improve and enhance it with Jaaxy.

So if you are asking which keyword tool to trust, I would say the WA keyword.

You might also wish to read my reply to another similar question:

Which is more accurate? the google keyword tool or jaaxy?

~Jude

Thanks Jude.

Thanks Jude.

My niche is helping people find and pursue work they love, make successful career transitions, and become better at their job.
I've spent a week or more researching domain nam

I agree with Steve, it is the better of your two choices. :)

besuccessful.com ;' yourfevoritework.com; carreerdchoice.com and etc :) I think are available :)

Thanks Manchini, i'll look into those.

my pleasure:) but I loved your domain names better what s wrong with them?

Nothing inherently. They just don't have good keyword indicators according to Jaaxy, as I understand it.

I see, ok try something different, yourcareerbuilder.com, rightdirection.com

Those are not available. I'm tellin ya, I've done hundreds of searches. It seems all the good dot com's are taken, or if they are not, then they are not keyword rich. I'm probably going to go with workwiseresources.com and just focus on creating stellar content and building a brand. If I can do that effectively...they will come. lol

I think I have good new for you careerfirststrata.com is available grab it :) sure if you like it, strata means level in latin or floor :)

it is available careerfirststrata.com but if you don't like it you may choose what you like sure, I checked it on cheapname :)

Careerstrata is available. I like that better.

That's so good I am glad for you:)

You talkin about careerstrata, Manchini?

Definitely :) yeah:)

Use the .com if you can get it! I vote for the 2nd!

Your articles are what will bring traffic to your site, not your domain name. You are over-thinking this process.

I'm sure I am Steve, but I still want a relevant, nice sounding domain. Jaaxy doesn't like my two choices, but oh well.....So which domain would you choose?

www.workwiseresources.com is the better choice in my opinion.

What are the two domain names?

sorry, my bad. They are: www.lovingmyjob.net or www.workwiseresources.com. thanks.

The second name, in my opinion, sounds more professional.

Thanks. I really, really prefer a .com extension.

I thought I got unlimited Keyword Searches at Jaaxy with my WA Premium membership. Is this not true? Jaaxy says I have 16 searches remaining.

All the information regarding Jaaxy is right on your page. Just click on the link for all of the details and cost and what is available to you.

it just opens a new window and brings me to the Jaaxy homepage.

Unlimited searches are with the WA keyword Tool. $49 per month for Jaxxy unlimited searches and everything else they do. There is a $19 per month subscription, but you don't get all statistics you get with the $49 subscription

What Santy said... Then it's about $20 monthly if you decide to keep Jaaxy (it's worth much more!).

If you decide to not keep Jaaxy until you have revenue coming in, then you can use the Keyword Tool (the menu on the left of your screen under "Tools" ... it works really great, too!).

Hope this helps! Merry Christmas and God Bless! ~Cathy

You get the Keyword Tool here at WA for free as a Premium member, there are two paid options at Jaaxy one called Pro 19.00 a month and then Enterprise at 49.00 a month.
The searching you are doing as a free member will still be available after your 16 searches are done.
And there is an affiliate program such that you can refer people to Jaaxy and earn credits to use later too.

No Jaaxy only give you 30 days free

Sandy, it is 30 free searches instead of 30 days, I think.

You have to join JAAXY. Use this and I'll make a buck: http://www.my-linker.com/hop/ax After you join it is easy to promote so that you pay nothing. I have never had to put out one red cent for WA or JAAXY because I promote them. Click on Affiliate Program at the top and then Links. Merry Christmas! John

Unfortunately not. You have to pay to get unlimited searches.

finding an available, keyword rich dot com domain that makes sense for my niche is next to impossible.

I think I'm just going to go with a domain I bought a couple of years ago and still own; that is www.cardinalpointresources.com. It's not keyword rich and doesn't indicate what my niche is, but from what I'm gathering from the comments is that it's all about the content that gets you ranked in the major search engines anyway. I want to build a brand, not just a singular website.

Domain name doesn't need to be keyword rich, but it still should be related to your niche. You don't want to confuse your readers, do you?

Your domain extension is not what matters, its the content on the site that makes money not the domain extension
Don't get hung up on details like this
Example - One of the most popular websites online = Wikipedia.org

Barry

I understand, but I still want a dot com extension. And one that has a good ring to it and makes logical sense to my niche. Just particular, I guess.

this could take weeks.....

What's wrong with using your siterubix name with a .com? It is available.

See my reply to cookma54 about 18 hours ago.

Some of the most successful WA promoters use domain names that get very few searches. It is your content that brings traffic, not your domain name.

Still searching.....

My niche is helping people find work they love, make career transitions, and be successful on the job.

Kind of like a Job Coach?

yes Melody

Great advice given below ... but I am good with names ... so if you tell me what you were working on I could probably come up with a few suggestions. M

my siterubix subdomain is doingyourbestwork, and the dot com domain is available and I had plans to go with that, but I had someone tell me last night that it had poor keywords and to rethink it.

Are you doing a WA site or doing your best work at what? Tell me a little about your site.

You been given some good advice. They got you covered!

Sooo... I hear your frustration and if you only want to vent, then you have people here who will listen. But... if you want some suggestions (since you can have people who want to see you succeed and are here to help you), then please let us know what your niche is. God Bless! ~Cathy

Don't even worry about keywords in the domain name. Your posts/pages are ranked individually.

Try a bit harder or go with .net or .org. Also, it's not necessary to be keyword rich domain. It's better if the name is memorable and has brandable sound to it.

though .Com is preferable, if there are none available with the keywords you want, getting a .org or .net instead isn't the end of the world. It will still get ranked and do well with Google just like a .com
