Tags, how many is too many and why?
I have had a few questions on whether there is a limit to how many tags to use per post and if so why?
I did a bit of research on this and I found this discussion in the Wordpress Blog.

To answer the question, I typically use 3 or 4 tags - but I use tags primarily to help me focus on the structure of the site.
It's entirely too easy to create an internal linking structure that simply sends site visitors from page to related page - which is kinda good. I say "kinda good" because random internal linking may help build trust, but it doesn't get the job done when it comes to moving them further along the funnel - and to conversion.
Still working on that!

I thought I remembered Jay saying in a webinar recently, that we didn't need tags at all any longer. Does anyone else remember that?
Thanks for the link Shawn. It clears up several things for me about tags. I've always tried to KISS (keep it super simple) when it comes to using tags.

Thanks. That is what I thought it was, but I didn't know if this also referred to alt tags for pictures.
