In the weird zone
So I'm at around 20 posts and into my third month. Not ranking for much of anything that I can tell. One ranking on page 29, that's it. Posting 3-4 times per week, making a couple cents a day on adsense that's it. I am in the zone where most people quit, I think. My monthly payments are expensive as they are converted into CDN dollars and I have to admit, I am in a weird zone where I am definitely questioning everything. Not everyone makes it, right? It kind of feels overwhelming, I mean you try like hell to get to a number one spot with billions of other people and then hope that someone buys something. The only thing I am happy about is that the site seems to be getting new users between 150-200 per day. But I have not idea where they're coming from cause I'm not ranking...
Well sorry for the negativity but I need to vent! It's not an easy process.

Yep, been in the weird zone several times now. Keep going; cling to the knowledge that you are learning through all of this.
To be honest this is the time most people quit the reasons that you stated they cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. The point is when you're in this zone and you are questioning everything you are also slanting the answers to whatever justification your mind is working towards. If you are getting that alarming new users everyday that is absolutely fantastic box what I do suggest is that you install Google analytics now immediately.
Google Analytics Demystified
all the comments we can give don't actually mean anything what actually mean something is how you are in real terms to making money and the only way you're really going to find that out is delving into Google analytics.
This is probably not what you want to hear but it is something that you should be hearing. Also how much time and effort are you putting into your keyword research the more focused your articles are and the more they are connecting to your target market which you will see in Google analytics who really is visiting your site and it may not be your target market.
The Sony Marriott these two possible discrepancies sooner dollars are gonna start rolling in
I have Google analytics already which is why I know I am getting around 100-200 new users per day.....thanks for your words of encouragement.
Well if I was getting the number of new users everyday I certainly wouldn't give up. I would definitely look at my target audience look at the demographics of the people visiting my site and see if the content and writing matches the actual visitors and spend more time doing keyword research
i thought my keywords were all low competition - guess it will take a lot more time to rank. Thanks for your encouragement - I really appreciate this community's help.
At this point, if you're making a couple of cents a day on ad sense you should be ecstatically happy.
I believe this is around the point when many quit and it's a shame. Many people are willing to create 20 posts but fewer will stick with it and create 40, 60.....etc. That is the difference between those who make it and those who do not.
3 months in is where 95% will likely give up. By sticking with it, you are moving into a bracket of a smaller percentage who aren't willing to give up and have a much better chance of seeing results.
I would be willing to bet that you will see improvement across the board over the next 3 months :)
That's great Shannon...I too have postsbut they are just pre-written. Haven't really started with the Blog, but got frustrated so got a couple of posts written. You will start to earn, as you know it takes time to brand yourself. As long as it is monetized you will be ok. Just keep advertizing your Blog. BTW how are you promoting and advertising it? Just curious as I can give you a ton of links where you can advertise for free. PM me if you would like! All the Best. Sharon
Hey Shannon,
It's not about posting random posts nor quality content , the problem is you should promote your content:-)
I would like to challenge you. I have a deal for you.
There you go:
I will provide you a topic related to your website.
I will provide the title.
You will write the content with my instructions.
You publish it.
I may ask you to make a video related to the post.
Humbly, I believe that the new post will bring more traffic.
Cheers
ok David - I will write it if it's relevant to my site- but I use video from youtube - I don't make any yet......pm me with the keyword and I will track it on analytics and see if your keyword or phrase ranks. Thank you!

Think of how far you've come in only 2 months. I wish I could say the same for myself. You are an inspiration! Keep at it.
