Unexpected Success!

Heyla, fellow affiliates!

It's been an interesting June so far. Especially for me. I've had some ups and downs, of course. So much has happened the past couple weeks, it's been crazy.

My Successes!

I jumped in rank, unexpectedly. I was in the 300s for the longest time. Then I woke up one morning to find myself in the 200s! Crazy, right? As of right now, I'm at 234. Almost to the top 200.

I'm not even trying!

I'm not as knowledgeable as TDomena or Smartketeer, nor as popular or active poster as a lot of other members. I simply post when I have something to say. I post when I can help someone when I actually know the answer. I've been keeping up on Site Comments and the like. But nothing crazy or major. And nothing that had my site suffering.

My second success:

I created my very first training today! Or rather, I finally finished it! Feel free to check it out:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/what-is-amazon-associates-about-and-how-to-get-approved/introduction-what-is-amazon-associates

It's how I got approved to Amazon Associates and stay approved with enough sales. Hopefully it'll help some of you get your 3 sales needed.

Lastly, I've gotten through my plugins and the like, started updating old posts, posting new ones, and I got somewhere! I'm using an AMP plugin to keep my mobile pages fast as lightening, and just took Smartketeer's new training on the TLDR plugin to heart and that means I've got to edit those posts AGAIN. But hey, if it improves my conversions, I'm all for it!

My Non-Successes

I'm not going to say failures, of course. I didn't fail. Just minor setbacks, sometimes.

I'm STILL not switched to the niche I want to be in because I haven't quite finished training. Things slowed way down for me as I implement training and other ideas I've seen.

I am trying to schedule my social media posts effectively so I spend less time on Facebook and Twitter and Pinterest. They are a HUGE time-suck when I have to go onto one of those sites.

I'm testing Hootsuite, Tailwind, and Buffer right now, see if there's one that could do ALL my social media accounts. I'm looking to go premium on one of those, but I can't decide which one is the best one. Tailwind looks awesome, but you pay per social media account. Hootsuite, I'm already a pro member and have access to 50 social media accounts, but they don't do well with Pinterest and Instagram, really.

Buffer is the new one I'm trying, but the cheapest premium plan only allows 6 or 8 social media accounts and 100 scheduled posts. I might have to combine all of them, unfortunately. And of course, some of them don't do well with Instagram's posting rules.

Argh!! It's making my head explode.

Personal Life, it's Bleh

I am missing one of my feral kitties right now. I have no idea where he could be and it's stressing me out. I'm so worried about the little guy!

A cute cat got dumped at the barns a couple weeks ago. Poor fellow is so sweet, so lost, and it's sad.

It's so freaking hot down here in Louisiana. I'm from Montana. I'm DYING here. I'm completely worn out just from the heat. It's not fun.

Still Plugging On

But I haven't given up, I'm making real, measurable progress. I'm now going to do a round outside and see if I can't see my little feral boy kitty somewhere.

I hope y'all had as much success as I have had this week! What goals did you achieve? Did you have an unexpected success? Let me know!

Lovies!

Congratulations on your achievements Rochelle.

Derek

Thanks so much :)

Keep building your momentum....you are doing great!

Aw, thanks so much!

You're welcome!

Congrats on your progress. I hope you find your kitty.

Thank you! I hope so too!

Congrats in your progress and accomplishments!

Aw, thank you!

I am glad you are making progress! Good for you! I hope the kitty is ok. I am so glad hot for me is not the same as hot for you down there. We just broke down and finally bought an air conditioner. When we have forest fires and can't open the windows at night it gets hot especially since we are on the third floor. My husband is in heaven...the darn thing is LOUD though. It is a movable one on wheels.

Since it is the solstice here in Alaska the sun rises and sets in the north with over 19 hours above the horizon and just below but still light in between.

We will be getting our unit ready to rent with new paint and carpet next weekend and it is supposed to be hot so I am sure we will appreciate it.

Keep doing what you do! You are great.

Jessica

Aw, thanks so much for your kind words!
It's very humid here which is why I'm dying. Hot in Montana is not like here. We get the forest fires there too so I understand not opening windows or avoiding outdoor activities during the fire season.

Yet 19 hours of sun?! Wow, that would take some getting used to!

The smoke is thick here tonight. I am SO glad we got the air conditioner since we can't open the windows. Yes, I knew you would understand the smoke being from Montana. My husband is from Montana.

I love the sun after a long, dark winter (only 5 hours of sun then) but it is hard to sleep! You just want to go all night.

Jessica

I would imagine it's hard to sleep! But winters must be a little depressing with so little sunlight too. I always wanted to visit Alaska, but not sure I want to live there! Those are some extremes between seasons!

One good thing about Louisiana is the lack of smoke during the summer. But you still can't breathe if you're not used to the humidity! Lol. I've been hiding inside all week.

It doesn't matter where you live, there's always weather to complain about, right?! Lol

Hi! Congrats on your successes! I hope you find your kitten.

Me too, thank you!

Kudos to you! I hope you find your little kitty. I know what you mean about the heat. I'm from the Chicago area and lived here in the south for 36 years and I'm still not used to the heat and humidity. I'd rather be it be around 72 year round... haha

Hi, Michael! If you're not used to it yet after all those years, I'm totally screwed, aren't I?

People keep asking me if I'm okay! Lol. I look exhausted and sweaty. Admittedly, I work outside with horses and in barns but it's freaking killing me here.

Maybe that's why I'm so productive lately. I'm hiding inside with the AC!

Thanks for your wishes for the kitty. I'm really worried as he's super attached to my boy cat. I'm just hoping he got turned around in the barns. He's such a pretty, special boy.

Wishing you much success and cooler weather over there! :)

Thanks! And yeah, the thick humid air makes it feel much hotter. The reverse of the wind chill index. Make sure you stay hydrated out there!

Cheers

I'm guzzling powerade and Gatorade like it's my job, don't worry. Lol

It's totally the humidity. I just haven't acclimated yet... lol.

It sounds like you're doing very well! I haven't even made a training yet, so good on you! :)

I'm sorry about your kitty. I have 3 cats, and 2 of them sneak out frequently. One of them didn't come back for 2 days, and I seriously thought she was lot forever.

Until she showed up to eat the third day.

Cats are crazy.

Congrats on being in the 200s. Keep rockin' and rollin'!

- Christina

Thanks so much!

Cats are escape artists! This one was feral for the first 5 months of his life. I did tame him (and his brother), but not enough to rehome them, unfortunately. I care for a lot of barn cats, in addition to my two cats, and decided I inherited two extra cats that I'm going to have to let outside again as they weren't adjusting as well as I liked.

He was fine, but never went far, he bonded strongly to my male cat, and then he snuck out early one morning and haven't seen him in two days. I'm hoping he just got turned around in the barns. Sigh. But I'm really concerned because I'm not joking about him being attached to my male cat. I've never seen a cat love another cat like this. The feeling isn't mutual though. Lol

I hope he's okay.

Thanks so much for your encouraging story though. Often times, they DO show back up. Thank you!

Well, keep us posted! I would be worried too, but cats are so good at knowing where they are and getting their way back. I know there's a risk of animals and cars getting to them though...

We actually have a fox that runs around here looking for animals at the bird feeders in the neighborhood. I always worry that he's going to try to snag one of my cats. But I actually saw my cat chasing HIM one day. lol

- Christina

Lol! I can totally believe a cat would chase a fox!

I think ambassadorship is going to come natural for you like it did for me. Don't force it or worry too much, just keep being generous (as you're doing).

Regarding your social media tool, have you looked at eClincher? I currently use Tailwind for Pinterest, but it doesn't manage the others. eClincher is amazing and I even have a video review if you're interested in seeing how it works.

I'm currently only using Youtube and Pinterest (minimally), so you're bold for juggling all those. It sounds like things will really start picking up for you. You're an amazing writer and your personality comes thru in your comments, blogs, and everything else.

Keep it up!

Aw, thank you! Talking to you is always encouraging!

Ambassadorship wasn't even one of my goals originally as I was wholly focused on my site. I just wanted to be helpful when I came across someone asking a question. I congratulate people on their success. I keep doing site feedback and site comments so I always have credits to ask for mine. But the rest of the time, it's my site.

As for the Social Media, I have a lot of fun making graphics lately for posts. Its easy and kills time on my phone if I'm on break at work. I am making a bunch of quotes right now.

But I technically have 2 sites, with my old book blog. So have my FB account, my 2 FB pages, and one group for local feral cat stuff. I have 3 Twitter accounts, one for personal and 2 for my two sites. I have 3 Instagram accounts, 1 personal and 2 business for my sites, I have ONE Pinterest business account that I use boards for my two sites, and one LinkedIn account I never use and one YouTube I use to subscribe to other channels but don't post.

Sigh. I WAS liking Hootsuite and Tailwind, especially for Pinterest, but Instagram isn't friendly with schedulers. I'm going to check out your recommendation, eClincher.

Unfortunately, all these activities on Social Media means that I need to go premium here. Since I'm not turning over a profit yet, I need to be conservative with my investments. Let's be honest, most the time I don't even need the premium version of a plugin for my site yet (plus I'm going to switch niches and sites soon).

I'm debating premium Canva though as I found I have a knack for Social Media images though.

But thanks so much for your lovely words of encouragement and your recommendation! Go ahead and PM me the link on your eClincher review. I'd love to check it out!

I'm using a phone I have no computer will it work from a phone

Yes, it will work from a phone. :)
