I have been wondering if It is acceptable to buid websites and host them here at WA for others that want a website but do not want to create it themselves. I have been thinking
Sarah…I see you have your answers below. Keep up the good work and let us know of your progress of getting off-line clients…(educational). Thanks for sharing.
If You want to build a website it is fine. If you do it for a client it should be fine If for some reason you decide to leave WA ---you would need to move the client s website then. As long as your here I think it is a good plan. If you need to know more about getting off-line clients let me know. There are many ways to do it and here at WA training on how to ---as well..
I think it's going to be a good option for clients that want you to build and maintain their website but maybe not so good if they want full ownership of the site. I would then host it elsewhere for them and let them maintain it themselves. I will be going deeper into the training here so I understand all aspects before acquiring clients.
Hi Sarah, I am going to do this but I'd make it a point to put my WA banner on each of them because I think this is one way that I can get more referrals. Also, that is one reason why I think we, as premium members, are entitled to unlimited websites. Goodluck!
Thanks for your reply, It sounds like it could be a profitable business and I'm hoping to find some training inside WA that will help me get started with this niche, Good luck to you too :)
I agree, but of course, it comes with hard work because it's not easy to maintain a site, you know that. If I'll do it, I'd make 'allowing me to post my WA banner' as a pre-requisite. I think, completing all the courses here in WA is enough training to get you going, lol. Cheers!

Sarah, are you thinking to build their site as well as write content for the sites? Sounds like a good way to expand your business. Any idea how much would would charge for the service?pay
Not really sure what I will be charging yet Gordi or about the content, looks like I have a lot of research to do for this business idea :)

Hi there, my question is that I have a referral who has set up their profile inside WA ( I helped her to do this) but I have not received a credit for this person. She joined a
Same thing happened to me... their laptop but my IP address. I waited for a few weeks and had them go home, get on their desktop and create a new gmail account and it finally worked late last week... and I got the credit!
i sent Kyle a message and explained and he said it was fine and she is showing as my referral so i will get credit for her :)
If she did it from your computer you will not get credit for it I think there is a fails are to protect WA from fraud.
well she was using.her laptop but my internet connection Tommy and was jusy visiting
so was a good time to help her. when she signed up initially she was not at my house
As Tommy said you may have triggered an anti-fraud measure, if you were both on the same IP address, ie. wifi network, so I'd follow Chip's advice (@choppydo) below, and send a PM to Kyle or Carson asking them to check it manually for you. :) Rich.

If I have a static homepage how can I get my blog posts to show on another page on the my site please?
Thanks to all of you for taking the time to help me out! Thanks to this I have now got the solution and have been able to put the blogroll on a different page named simply "Blog" got to love the awesome help and support here at WA :-)
Hello Sarah !!
To do that go to Setttings » Reading and under the Front page displays option choose A static page. Below that choose the page to be used as the front page and the page for your blog posts.
Different people are interpreting your question differently here. if you want different blog posts to show in different menus, you can follow what wheatstraw says. However, if you want your blogROLL to be somewhere other than your homepage, like say in one of your navigation menus, Settings>Reading is the solution.
This was the perfect solution Jeremy, I was actually helping my friend to do this on her existing WP site as she did not have anywhere to do blog posts. Her site was just pages. Thanks so much for your help :)
Hi Sarah - actually, Wordpress will only let you have one page of blog posts, but if your blog posts are categorized you can create top menu buttons which are your categories, so this pretty much accomplishes the same thing. It allows you to sort posts into different pages from the main top menu.
