The Fruit of Your Labors
I saw this beautiful picture and it reminded me of a very special moment in my life...
There was a time... actually 22 years of my life where you would find me nowhere else but church on a Sunday morning. I loved being there. The last 9 years of that time I headed up the music/drama department of a pretty big church. I played quite a few instruments along the way, and loved creating and putting forth a good piece of music.
Four years before heading up that department, a woman pastor told me there was no 'fruit' in my life. She said my salvation wasn't real! I was devastated! I thought I was a good person who tried to do the best I could in every situation. I went home and wrestled with the words all day.
I returned to church that evening and walked up to the pastor and said, "The Word of God says that If I believe on the Lord Jesus Christ that I am saved as well as my household!" She was taken aback as I had deep conviction and emotion. She just said, "OK then!"
The picture above reminded me of what happened the next day. It was Monday morning and I was crying and praying about everything that had happened. I looked out my window and I honestly heard a voice from deep within... "What do you see?" The first thing I saw was a barren tree, as it was winter in New England... "A tree." "Is there fruit on the tree?" "No" I said. "I bring forth fruit in due season!" I really never questioned that things happen in the right time after that.
AN ORCHARD WAS ONCE FILLED WITH LITTLE SEEDS.....
YOU WILL REAP IN DUE SEASON.....
DON'T LET ANYONE TALK YOU OUT OF IT, EVEN YOURSELF!_________

Robin - That is a wonderful post. You are a very talented lady.
With love and blessings dear friend :)
That was beautifully stated, Robin! Thank you for sharing on this lovely Sunday afternoon :-)
It was wonderful seeing my children and my little grandsons. It just went by so fast.....It was a whirlwind weekend :-)
Oh, Robin, that is brilliant!
Often, we don't know the real motives behind someone's criticism.
Things can have been going well with that person, until we see that they have a problem with us.......
Maybe they envy our use of free expression?
Maybe they don't produce what they want themselves, and are afraid we may show them up?
Who knows.......
Hi Therese! Like I told Rick, it made me stronger... Thanks for the encouraging words.... Do you have a holiday tomorrow?
It always amazes me Robin, that some so-called "Christian" people can make pronouncements like this…… We all try to do the best we can, although we often may fall short.
The Gospel message is quite clear,it is full of compassion and forgiveness........."judge not lest ye be judged!"
At the time, I was pretty amazed that I was able to stand up and not accept the words. They haunted me at times, like all the lies spoken through the years, but I know the words of Truth when I hear them and find my way home each time. Thanks so much Arthur!
What a beautiful post. ..the story, the wisdom, the words!
Thank you Robin! May your orchard flourish into an aromatic peace of Heaven!
Thank you Robin. What a beautiful and inspiring story!
One of my mantras that keep me on track is "Be not anxious." Too often I tend to try and force fruit to develop before it's season.
We have to keep encouraging each other to stay on the path right? hahaha... Take care Kari!
