Hi, my name is Rick, and I'm a singer/songwriter from the U.S. I've written nearly 1,100 original songs and more than 800 blogs. My band, Cosmic Radio, has performed over 900 times in more than 510 different locations through the years. I'm looking to market our tunes on the internet. Check us out on Reverbnation:

Always looking for new fans and friends. Any King or Koontz readers here? How about FOE players? I'm also a big fan of the Walking Dead TV series and Gator football! :)

Hi , I am just wondering what the purpose of following others and being followed is ? I am totally new to internet money making and marketing , website building etc .
What I do know is I am pretty intelligent , and if help and others really showing me how to do this is available in depth , then I will do what needs to be done .
Please answer the question in the 1st paragraph and share all the helpful info and encouragement you have for me .
Thank you much ,
Brett

Hi Brett! The purpose of following is basically to foster interaction within the community. What you need to do is go through the training, step-by-step, read some blogs, and, when you are comfortable, write some of your own. Comment on the blogs of others, and help people when you can. Over time, build your website, using what you have learned in the training.

If you engage others within the community, write, and help when you are able, your rank will improve consistently.

Best of luck!-Rick

Thank you much for the reply . I still don't understand how a higher rank will get me closer to earning a livable amount of money ?

Hello Jen, and Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate!

As you begin working your way through the Certification Courses, a step-at-a-time, and Building Your Website, you can also start reading Blogs that catch your eye. After familiarizing yourself with different Blogs, you may feel like you are ready to write one of your own.

You can also follow other people, particularly those in the Top 200, or anyone whose Profile interests you. Many of these people will follow you back, and this will help build up your list of followers...people who are likely to read what you write.

If you have any questions, you can type them into the Search Bar, where you're likely to find multiple Blogs or trainings on just what you're interested in. You can also ask people in the Live Chat, or, if all else fails, just ask for help in the Answer Bar.

There are plenty of knowledgable people who are willing to help newcomers.

Best of luck with your new business!

Hi Rick,

I have been hit and miss with WA due to lots of company during summer, but I am missing your posts.

I hope you are on vacation and that everything is going well.

I look forward to reading your posts, whenever the mood moves you to write again.

All the best,

Hi Susan-I've not written since I got double-deleted (bringing the total to 4), with no explanation, and no response, even when I asked for one. It's discouraging to write a Blog and slip back two! :)
Reply

Oh no!!! I am sorry to hear that.

Your posts were always wonderful to read. You shared a piece of yourself with each one of your articles.

I can understand why you stopped submitting your blogs.

That sucks; however, the people who will reply and will respond would love to hear from you again!

You were born to write.

I hope to see your name on the WA email messages soon.

I've noticed this Rick and I'm sorry. There has been a push on through several blogs to keep the WA blogs all business. I think it will cause many of us to be tentative about our blogs and write less. It's not only you that is being deleted. I have been being very careful. I guess it's mostly all business from now on. :(

HI Rick,
Thanks for following me. I love getting introduced to new music. I also love Stephen King - I think he's one of the best writers of the 20th Century.

I'm afraid Walking Dead was too much for me, so I had to stop watching, just a little too bloody for my taste. If you like creepy - Stranger Things and The OA are two of the best shows I've ever seen.

I"m following you back and I'm wishing you lot of success promoting your music.

Hi Rick! Congratulations on a life well lived in music! So many people give up on their dreams, but you've stayed on your path! Just a thought...have you ever done any cover sings and posted them on Youtube? I know that I like to hear different versions of my favorite songs. You could use everything you've learned on WA to "promote" and drive views to your covers and maybe attract a following. I've seen quite a few Youtube musicians start this way. Just a thought. I too am a musician (12 string guitar, banjo and flute). I also compose but definitely not as prolific as you.

When you say Gator football, are you talking college football?

I know these may be fighting words but "Roll Tide". I'm a Bama girl - my alma mater.

My family is a house divided - Alabama, Auburn, West Virginia, Georgia Tech and LSU. Some how we have managed to get along rather nicely over the years in the face of the Southeast's hugh loyalty to their teams.

Hi Rick...Very nice to meet you! Yes, tis true, I am definately one of "those" women, who love Camelot..lol).., and superbly crafted tales of horror and macabre, oh yes, King and Koontz are my favorites also! However, I cannot say I am a fan of a sport in which a bunch of grown men chase each other around for the golden prize, a mere ball of pig skin!
