My name is Kari and I am married to an adorable old man (6 months younger than me, lol) with 3 grown children, and a bunch of the grandest of grandkids. My home is in wonderful Wisconsin where I enjoy an abundance of natural beauty, changing seasons, and the Green Bay Packers!!!
After 40 years in the medical field I am ready to challenge myself in a different direction. I am not one to remain stagnant! In the past, as well as being a radiographer, I have owned and operated a pet grooming business, pet sitting, and dog training, raised nigerian dwarf dairy goats, made cheese and soap. I am fascinated with the digital world and technology as much as I am with nature and humanity.
My current job is as a radiology technologist in an orthopedic department where for the past 16+ years I have felt that I had found my niche. I love working in the orthopedic field as opposed to general diagnostic radiology because of the fast pace and the need to be flexible rather than sticking to a routine. I also love following patients through their recovery, getting to know them, seeing their progress and watching them get better.
I have been seeing a lot of change in my work place, not unlike others, that has me planning for a different future. I have no desire to be placed in a situation where I don't feel like I am an asset and taken out of a position where I excell. I am close enough to retirement age to not want to play the administration's games, but I am a long way off from sitting back and doing nothing.
