Use A Press Release For Free Traffic
Using A Press Release To Generate Traffic
Hi folks, I came across an article by Angie Dixon so thought I would pass on the gist of it to my fellow WA members.
In her article this lady says (I agree with her). Is it possible that today's internet marketers are missing out on one of the best, most powerful marketing methods available to them today.
Something that is lying right under their noses and still they have overlooked it.
Something that is free, yes I said it, "free", and they have missed the opportunity to seize it and use it to it's fullest.
As you will already know there are many methods of promotion available on the internet and off line too. Over the years I have tried just about everything, but there is one that I have not utilized fully. Along with many other marketers, I had underestimated the value and power of a press release.
Many entrepreneurs are not using the best promotion tool available, and according to Angie Dixon she advises that press releases are the best marketing tool most people aren't using.
A well-written press release, distributed by the several high-quality free press release distribution services on the Net, can bring a wave of traffic, says Dixon.
"I myself recently ran a press release through a free service. The release was picked up by Google Alerts. I got subscribers every hour for 24 hours. I couldn't buy that kind of result".
Yet most online marketers aren't using press releases at all, or aren't using them correctly. This is all about to change.
Dixon gives two reasons for this. Many people, she explains, aren't aware that press releases can be such a powerful marketing tool. Others know about press releases but do not know how to write an effective release.
I know that a lot of WA members struggle with writing their site's content but go online and study other press releases. Find out how the good ones are put together and copy that style.
Once you have a firm grasp of what's required you can then go ahead and write your own Press Release and submit it to the free press release sites. The additional traffic you will receive from the press releases might surprise you, and best of all its free.
Feel free to leave a comment below and have a great day.

Robert, this is amazingly useful information! I had no idea we could still do that for free! I think of advertising in a local newspaper which is expensive!
I just looked at all the sites you linked above. Thank you!! I will try this! Have you done this yet? How much traffic did you get?
Jessica
Hi Jessica and how are you way up there in Alaska?
Well I hope and doing ok.
Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog and for your comment.
I have been doing Press Releases for a few year off and on and I nearly always get a good response.
It all boils down to how you set up your release and I have found the Template I included with this blog works the best.
My best tip - make it personal to your targeted audience.
What I means is you are giving them info that's not available anywhere else but on your site.
Enjoy your day and wrap up if you're going out.
Freezing at night here but glorious during the day.

Thanks Robert. I am still confused about Press Releases. I always thought they were to announce a new product or service (something along those lines).
I assume you wouldn't do a press release for every blog article you write, is that correct?
So when exactly would you do a press release?
Hello Tanya and thank you for your comment.
Yes I use them to promote a new product but it doesn't do any harm to give an update on the product or service you're selling/promoting either.
Perhaps there is a newer version you are selling/promoting or an update on a old one.
It will also depend on your Niche where there are multiple products on offer so you can do a release on each one and that will of course let visitors see what else is on your site.
Enjoy your day.

Hmm, not sure if I can fit press releases into my niche. My website is about child development and the importance of play in a child's development. I promote toys on Amazon. I don't write reviews per se. Rather I talk about how particular toys can help with development and skill building.
A great topic for a press release you can do one on a new toy or an update for an old one brought out for a specific learning purpose.
My grandson is given toys to play with at the nursery he goes to and they are mostly semi-educational.
Think about it and you might surprise yourself.

Thank you, Robert. I had all but forgotten the value of press releases. Your post was perfect timing! All the best, John
Hi John and worth trying, don't you think?
I don't use them all the time but when I do I do get results.
Enjoy your Wednesday.

Hi Robert,
Yes, I definitely agree. It's a great way to bring engagement to your site. And your template is super helpful.
All the best!
John
Great idea! I have used this in the past for other "brick & mortar" businesses. It never occurred to me to use it for an internet business! Thank you for posting, Robert!
Bill
