Googles Quick Answer Box For Ranking
Optimize Your Website For Mobile Users - Googles Quick Answer Box
Hi Folks
Read an interesting article today when I was actually searching for an answer to a members question.
I found it with my search term within the quick answer box that google usually has at the top of page one in the SERPs.
Anyone who does search for anything will surely have seen these quick answers to any given search term and they will save you a lot of time.
The Quick Answer Box is the short blurb of information that appears at the top of the SERPs, usually when a “how-to” or “what is” search term is entered along with other questions.
As more and more people use mobile devices the SEO landscape and voice search will change the way that people search. Therefore it makes sense for optimizing content for this space.
The Quick Answers feature scans the Web for a bite-sized, relevant answer capable of solving users queries. These are often in the form of short, informative sentences or bullet points/lists.
To rank for the Quick Answer Box you will need to publish content that directly addresses specific queries and the intent behind them. This can be done by focusing your efforts on search queries that start with “why,” “what,” and “how” because these are the most common types of questions.
The article I read did suggest that a great way to optimize content for landing in the Quick Answer Box was to create a Q&A page that addresses many of these types of questions or to naturally weave in short, explicit answers into long-from content. This indeed makes a lot of sense to me and so it should to you as well.
The most important thing to remember though is that your content be clear and concise and don't neglect your standard SEO best practices.
There you go folks, another aspect of the SEO you should definitely consider using as 2018 fast approaches.
This will be my last blog of the year but look out for more to come next year.
Have a great New Years night when it comes or as we say in Scotland - Hogmanay.
My home city of Edinburgh hosts the biggest street party in the world folks, and people do come from all over the world so they can go back home and say - I Was There!
