What are suggested Word Press websites that have a Landing Page?
Hi Mike. Can you name a couple themes that have landing pages built right in? Thanks, I appreciate it......Donna
I have gone into "Apprearence" then to "Editor" to open Editor. Upon clicking on Editor, I get the message; "ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS" The Google suggestion is that I clear cooki
FYI, per Marcus1978, WA website support had to provide me with access. Thanks all, it is working now.
Looks like one for the team at SiteSupport:

Heres a webpage for you

SmallBizGuy1, I read the suggested article, but did not see how do execute this action. She commented that the example was good for Windows 7, which I have. Am I missing a link to her training?
Thanks, Tony
Sounds like you only read the first page. It's a five page training. There's a blue 'next page' button at the lower right of the post.
Great, I was able to successfully negotiate the training. Thanks SmallBizGuy1! Unfortunately, that did not solve the problem either.
Why don't you clear your browsing history from the beginning of time.
That is if you use Google Chrome.
Works for me and most folks.
Robert
Hello Again Tony
I'm thinking you have redirects because they are on a loop and redirecting back to the url they have been redirected from.
Here's a video on this problem.

I would like to open up my website to offering others to post on mine. What should I consider in this proposition and how do I set it up? Thanks,
Hey Tony, first, thanks for your service to our country.
Guest bloggers are not inherently a bad idea, but I would proceed with caution. If you are just getting a brand new site off the ground, I'd encourage you to create your own content first and once you start gaining some traffic.
But maybe you have an idea to kickstart this process. If so, I've seen guest bloggers handled a few different ways.
1) You can have them submit their content to you and you post it on their behalf. They will still be able to respond to questions in the comments but it will take a little more administration. Either you will have to let them know about the comment or they will have to periodically check.
2) You can create a wordpress user for them to post on your blog. This allows them the flexibility of seeing what the post will look like on your page as well as using the WP editor, if that's what they are used to. If they are a seasoned blogger, they're lilely going to be well versed in this.
If you go route 2, you'll have to setup the user in the WP admin under "Users". You'll probably want to set them up as an author which will give them the ability to create new posts and that's about it. You will then need to sync their password in WA and provide them their login credentials. They will then be able to go to yoursite.com/login to log into the site.
I hope this helps.
Serving this country was one of the best things I have ever done. It was truly my honor and I am also very glad to be out! Your comment was very much appreciated.
I want my website to help young professionals navigate thorugh the labyrinth of the corporate world and thus is is a consulting/coaching business. I know a ton of really gifted people who have said that they would be willing to contribute in the form of posts. Most of these friends will not be candidates for your #2, but I have one person in mind where #2 will work.
For now, let's locus on #1. In what form would you suggest that they submit content and how would they have access to respond to comments?
Would this leverage ericcantu's method?
Thanks,
So for folks to submit their content for you to post, the medium of delivery would be relatively unimportant. A word document would probably be the easiest as you could cut and paste the text portion to a new post. You would then need to organize the media in a manner that reflects the author's intent.
You would also need to come up with a way to inform the reader that the content was submitted by a guest blogger. There are a myriad of ways to do that that range from as simple as a text explanation at the top to you creating a user to submit their content under.
As far as replying to comments, anyone can. The most professional way is to have them create a gravatar account associated with their email. That's covered at some point in one of the training. But if you're uploading their content, the responsibility would fall on you to let them know when they have a comment/question to reply to.
I'm the only author on my sites. Might be the control freak in me haha. But i know there are several sites made up of several people who all contribute and that's the way to go.
That's a good question. I believe you start with adding a user and then setting their role. And i believe as admin you still have to ok it before it goes up. If you trust them completely then you can assign them as admin as well, but they'll have the ability to change your site around so only allow someone the admin role if you truly trust them and know them personally.
Maybe search for that question by typing it in the search bar and see if there's a walk through on it already.
Or you can always ask Kyle. He actually replies, too :)
Eric, I like the idea of adding a new user and then setting their role. Admin access might be a bit too much. Thanks,
Yeah, only allow admin if it's like your twin brother and even then I'd be hesitant lol. Take care and good luck!

The Posts would be better on the Home page if they showed up with a picture and a few sentences with a "read more" button. Right now they are on the right hand side and title o
I looked at your website and the only thing you are missing are the Featured Images for each of your posts.
The solution is very simple and I am surprised no one mentioned it to you already..
In the WordPress editor on the bottom right of the editor you will see a link that says Set Featured Image.
This is where you add the Featured Image to all Posts that you create. It works the same exact way as placing images in your content except you do not set the left/center/right positions.
Hello Rob and hope you're well.
Tony's site wasn't like it is now.
Yesterday he had the full articles and his page went on forever.
He wanted it to be like mine with excerpts.
After some help from me and it still didn't work I advised him to change the theme and my instructions worked with the new theme.
Good to see you drop by now and again and you are up early as I am (6.30 am).
Enjoy the rest of your day.

I added the pictures to the posts. Your directions were simple and easy to follow. Thank you for the helping hand.
Here is the website should you want to take a look:
https://climbingthecorporateladders.com/
Even though I have clicked on "Summary", the Full Text appears. What might I be doing wrong?
This looks like a strange anomaly with te WordPress theme you are using. Maybe it's worth contacting the creator of the theme to ask their advice?
No you don't have to check Categories.
When you have a post in Edit Mode you can assign it to a relevant Category and as you add them your last published post will always show on your home page as well as in Categories.
If you followed the steps I gave you and your page format has not changed then there has to be something wrong with your Theme.
Is it a paid Theme?
I may have answered your question wrong. I got it through WA, but it is one where it was unlocked by being Premium.
Ok. Then why not choose another Theme and see what happens.
People change themes all the time until they hit on the one that has everything they need.
I did a blog on this last year and its surprising how many people choose the wrong theme.
Anyway change and see because those steps I gave you should have worked.
Now I'm off for the night as its getting late.
maybe catch you tomorrow if you are still having problems.
Robert
Great stuff - the simplest answer is usually staring you in the face.
One to remember for future reference.
Enjoy your Thursday.
