He folks, I recently had a brief conversation with a guy regarding why you should avoid keyword stuffing and employ good SEO instead and he brought up "using synonyms" in the c
Hey TJ, I'm not sure what you mean by this, but maybe I was not clear on my question.
Let's say I do a search for "SEO Expert". On page one of the results, less than half of the pages returned have the term "SEO Expert". But there are sysnonyms, like "SEO Specialist", "SEO Consultant", etc... In fact the very top result does not have "expert" anywhere in the article. It does have "expertise" twice. The number one result is about hiring an "SEO Consultant". So the page was returned via synonym ranking. I'm just trying to understand how that works better, and I think Eddy (with a Y) had a good answer.

Can you exploit synonyms to generate traffic?

Hey Christian
If you're writing content as taught here at WA you'll naturally include synonyms without having to give it much thought. If I had a website about sneakers, I would naturally mention things like tennis shoes, nike, laces, etc.
So there isn't much to think about in terms of synonyms. If you've picked a topic you know about, you'll do this naturally.
Thanks, Eddy. That's kind of what I was thinking as well. It's something that should come naturally and should get ranked on the synonym as long as the article is well written.
Yup. I'll share my process with you. Before I write any article which are usually reviews and easy to write. I just do some keyword research. I try to identify 3 main keywords that will be the focal point of my article. So usually for me it's Product Name, Product Name Review, Product Name Scam. But I also note some of the other keywords related to product name that people may be searching for. I try to incorporate them as I write. But I don't over think so it makes it hard for me to write. So if I noticed that a lot of people mentioned product name complaints. Then I'll probably slip that word in my content as I write if it makes sense. But again the key is not to overthink it. When I was a newbie I would over think the usage of keywords. But I don't anymore and I still usually rank for variations or synonyms I never consciously thought of. So keep that in mind.
