Most of my career has been in the corporate world. This life has been good to me, but I have found that middle and executive management requires a lot of time, especially due to travel. I also found that my work/life balance was getting to be too much out of balance with life and family not receiving enough of my time.
I am a graduate of Purdue University from the early 1980's and an Army veteran. I tell people that I went to school at Purdue, but go my education in the Army. I enjoyed (or survived) such schools as Basic Training, Officer Candidate School, Infantry Officers Basic Course, Airborne and Ranger Schools. Most of my professional career has been in health care especially pharmaceutical, pharmacy, food and environmental services. Most of this was in the sub-specialty of Post Acute and Long Term Care markets.
As a soldier, I was stationed in Germany during the Cold War. I was actually in Germany when the "Wall" came down. I have worked in Germany for a conglomerate also in the healthcare industry. l speak German fluently. My older daughter is studying Medicine there and has worked there as a Mid Wife. I consider Germany to be my second home.
I have held positions from Industrial Engineer, Sales Professional, Manager and Director. My challenge is that while these professional positions are still in demand, I find myself wanting to start my own business. I am certainly humbled that my professional experiences may very well not translate well into the cyber space platform that is successfully being leveraged today. I look forward to getting to know this new business model (at least for myself) and want to thank all of you who will take the time to share your knowledge, understanding and wisdom with me and those like me.
