New Training: Categories, Tags and Menus
I've seen a lot of confusion expressed in Live Chat around a website's Categories and Tags.
And have been asked to comment on websites where I see a string of blog posts, all of them labeled "uncategorized".
Plus members asking how to group their blog posts by category and make them visible to their visitors.
All these things are inter-related.
I've included them in a new training tutorial. You are welcome to check it out at:

Hi Phil, I have also noticed uncategorized posts on websites I have commented on, a bit more time in the office and an understanding where everything is and how to use it is all it takes, don`t rush! Never be afraid to ask. Have a great day, take care.
Cheers Phil... I have noticed a few members asking about categories, tags and menus recently as well..
This training will be very beneficial to many my friend!
Yes I know personally I feel too many are taking shortcuts in the training or not applying what is taught hence the lack of knowledge.
You did great by the way and thank you for that.
Andre
Thanks Phil.
I have categories set up in most of my websites, but in haste often time neglect assigning my posts to the category.
Is it important for SEO reasons?
You should be able to select the category within the post before you publish it which should be on your right hand side if you are using the block editor.
You should assign categories to your posts as you create them, but you can still assign categories to already published posts and catch up. Categories are more to do with organizing information for your visitors than SEO.
It's not important for SEO, per se, BUT...
Visitor Experience is a huge RANKING FACTOR.
The easier it is for a visitor to navigate a website, the better experience they have, the better experience a visitor has, the more likely Google and the other search engines are to take notice.
Therefore, categories, tags, and menus HELP a visitor to EASILY navigate around your website.
