Switching You Off - It's Nothing Personal
Hi WA Friends !
I'm going to switch you off for a while. This is nothing personal. Simply it is the fact that I am getting overwhelmed with the amount of notifications I'm getting.
Every day I receive more than 30 emails from WA and feel compelled to read each and every one of them for fear of missing something. However, I find that I'm reading a lot of information that I know nothing of and haven't covered yet in my training so far. Whilst I understand that knowledge is power I need to construct my learning process by mastering the basics first and then broadening my knowledge. I can't just absorb everything and it is causing me a lot of frustration and actually derailing me somewhat.
I need to worry about following the training, building my website then worry about all the other stuff. I find that when I'm overwhelmed I become the worlds biggest procrastinator as I'm always trying to decide what to do for the best. Of course I want to have a great website that brings in a lot of traffic, I want to monetize it in the best way possible but I need to wait. I need to keep things simple and build gradually and I don't feel I can do that with constant this constant distraction.
I hope this will also free up some of my time to really focus on content production which is something I'm neglecting, only managing 1 post per week which is not enough in these early days.
As I said, nothing personal but I really need to focus.
Take care.
Cheers,
Paul

I am at the same point Paul. Jan. 1 in the start of a Personal Trainers busy season and I got to get back to my website. I am getting over 100 notifications per day and just not enough hours to answer and read them all as I always do.
Hi Mark, thanks for commenting and letting me know that you are in the same boat. Certainly after 4 days the break has done me a world of good. Perhaps I missed something important but I'm sure it'll come around again.
I completely understand what you're going through. I too recently had to make the decision to step back from the community a bit and focus on my website first. It was at the point that responding to all my WA emails would take a good 3-4 hours. Time that could be better spent on my site.
Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for your support. Yes, it has done me the world of good actually. My brain certainly appreciated it.
Well said. I'm sure I am not the only one here that completely understands what you are experiencing. Best of luck.
Oh yes, I know the feeling. My inbox has nothing but WA, but don;t stop them I enjoy keeping up--And you get good notices--like :
My content has been indexed in Google! Google has my page in their index. Those little cats and dogs are moving right along.
Thanks Barbara. I appreciate your support. I paused them temporarily and feel so much better and calmer allowing me to focus more. It has paid off.
I agree! I get over 100 emails a day, and am slowly learning which I can delete (with minimal guilt) and which I save to read on the 2 or 3 days I designate for that purpose.
Good luck!
KyleAnn
Hi KyleAnn,
I wish I had 2 or 3 days to devote to emails. I'm struggling to find 2 or 3 days to devote to WA in general. But, that will not stop me. A bit of downtime and back with renewed enthusiasm.
Thanks for your support.
