Turns Blue!
Hi Guys and Gals
Talk about a learning curve - these mushrooms are just something else!
Today I went out for my morning walk with my best friend and the plan was to take him swimming and if you look ate the bottom of the pic there he is -
Yes, he was swimming about four times as I had no more wood to throw for him and before you ask no this is not my river but it is only 5 minutes walk from my house!
We decided to go back through the forest and maybe we would find something but as you can see I found more than I thought - a bunch of baby mushrooms!
They were just waiting for me so I scooped them up but just around the corner I saw the mother mushroom and of course I had to have her join me
Now here is the strange thing when you cut this kind of mushroom they turn BLUE!
That is amazing the one on the right has just been cut and the one on the left cut for a minute - so why does a mushroom turn blue - does anybody know?

Strange. There is a type of rock fish we catch here called Ling Cod. They are really prehistoric looking. They have giant mouths with long sharp teeth. Sometimes when you fillet them, you will find their meat is blue. Still really good eating, but no one knows for sure why this happens. :)
I know the name starts with B and is not far different in English than Therese's German name, and I believe it is poisonous.
There are so many different colors in the mushroom world. They are such fascinating things!
Hi Kari and yes the muchroom world is a world on its own and tomorrow I will write something that will amaze you!
I can't wait, you know I love mushrooms! I hope you use your new word "muchroom". Typo or intentional it should be in the dictionary.
Waiting to be amazed...
I know about doing spore prints of mushrooms, Paul, but you probably already know all that. They do put off different colors. You live in a beautiful area!
