.And the Quest Continues!

So I tried some ( many ) things and, like the great Thomas Edison ( inventor of the

incandescent light bulb ) , learned many things that didn't work.

Fortunately or unfortunately, I have adopted the attitude that it probably is a good thing

that I didn't succeed at first, for the simple reason that the lack of success forced me

into avenues where I was always learning new things. One of the things that still amaze

me is the vastness and the immensity of cyberspace and all that there is to explore.

I have learned about marketing ( still a very long way to go ); business models, List

Building ( " The money is in the list!" ). Actually I have come to understand that while it

is important to build an email list, the more important thing is how you treat your list.

That you have to build a relationship with the people on your list to develop their trust in

seeing you as an authority in your chosen niche. I have also come to understand that

your email list is one of your most important assets. That an email list is a virtual

money-machine. That when used correctly is gives you a licence to print money on

demand..

A very important part of the journey has been the pleasure of meeting so many

different people from all parts of the globe. The ability to associate with and to develop

relationships with people that you would not otherwise have known of their existence.

I have also come to understand that you have to treat your business as a real

business and to vision it as a long term, ongoing concern. Hence over time you need

to build your brand, which has to be unique to you. Thus from day 1, you need to

decide what your brand will be and be consistent in building that brand.

Most important considerations in building your brand are such things as honesty,

Integrity, dependability/reliability and transparency, to name some of the attributes in

branding.

Once you build your brand based on these attributes, it becomes easier to attract

clients/customers to your offer. With this you are well on your way to the success that

you desire. All the big boys have established brands. Mention Mercedes and who in the

world doesn't immediately a luxurious automobile? Or mention the word McDonalds

and immediately a big " M " jumps into your mind associated with a delicious meal.

Whereas, we are all primarily in this endeavor to make money, that should come

secondary to our desire to help others. As someone rightly said, you should help as

many other people to achieve their goals in order to achieve yours, or something to

that effect. Help others and you will be helping yourself in the process........
